My mum had the same problem after having lymph removal - she found that the local Assisted Living centre had all sorts of gadgets that helped her ;)

I was geting myself worried on Weds evening , as I was really cold all day in work (although the guys thought the temp OK) and when I got home I ended up shivering on the sofa wearing 4 layers and with a fleece blanket, while DH was wearing a T-shirt! Then at about 10.00pm I felt so hot I put on summer PJ's.....

Don't forget, you will have your very own personal central heating system soon!
Work are STILL messing me about - they want definite confirmation from me that I am not going to take the job offer, but won't confirm to me if they are going to give me the enhanced redundancy I have asked for in return - and the HR woman has gone MIA and won't return my calls. It is all just so stressful! I also feel really sorry for the other girl who will get offered the job when/if I decline it - she must be really stressed out too with not knowing!

Maybe a call to ACAS could be required? Or even the threat of the call may be enough to push them into a decision?

    Hi Jackie,
I had an electric (battery) tin-opener from DH at Christmas! Some people thought it an odd gift, but I have psoriatic arthritis and some days I can't manage to grip & turn a conventional tin-opener, so I think it a wonderful gadget! A big HOORAY for all these little things which make life easier!

LOL! Thanks Floss! I am not normally one to feel the cold much, so def. start to worry when I do as it's normally a sign that something is up...

I've already spoken to ACAS when they started the whole redundancy thing (about 3 months ago now!) and the company knows that I have! If not, they would have had me out by now, but I have disputed the legality of their actions a couple of times already, and they have had to backtrack - so I am probably not the most popular employee LOL! I'd have thought they would have been especially glad to see the back of me by now and would have dealt with it extra fast now I appear to be backing down, and giving them a way out!!!

NPM - (((hugs))) hope you soon feel better and to anyone else feeling poorly x

I've had my colposcopy plus a biopsy this morning. One area showed up but she couldn't see very high up - apparently I have a narrow canal( tell that to my DH:D:rotfl:):o She will call me back in late October/early November when she has the results and after a meeting with some other proffesionals. She said it needs to be handled circumspectly due to my history so now I just have to wait and see what happens. It wasn't too bad thankfully and afterwards my friend and I went to M&S for a latte and cake and some retail therapy.

Mummysaver - thanks for the info re Dan Brown, I'll keep my eye open at the carboots or the library but thanks for the offer:T

I've just had lunch and am now putting my feet upfor a bit.

  • Afternoon all

Gosh it is cold here today and very grey looking.

Finally got our car back from the garage and am delighted to say it hardly cost us anything (£70) after the huge estimates for new turbochargers and general head shaking by the mechanics when we took it in, I was expecting the worst, so it feels a little like christmas:j:j:j Seemingly it was only a pipe of some sort that had split (still took them a whole week to decide that but never mind)

So that means we can go off in the caravan this weekend as booked, so mad dash now getting stuff organised. So ((((Hugs)))) to those, stressed, ill or just in need of a hug and hope you all have a lovely weekend

    x

Gosh, I think having swine flu means you deserve a new cookbook NPM. Hope you get better soon.

Taplady -apparently I've got a very narrow canal too -that and my boobs are the only bits of me that are too small:o:D:rotfl: Hope your procedure wasn't too uncomfortable;)

OK, back to OSing. Must hoover in a mo.

Have decided what to do with my mackerel fillets. I'm just going to grill them and serve with baked spuds, sweetcorn and salad.

I send flowers on Mothers Day and her birthday and send her a book token for Christmas. I have done so every year since she stopped talking to me.

OH still sends his boys stuff every Christmas and birthday, they don't talk to him or thank him. It is really tough for him, as I guess it is for you. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the silence won't be forever.
