write off credit card debt

I see both sides of the points raised. I work in collecting mortgage arrears AND helping people keep their homes - its not all about repossessing and the first thing you learn is their are people who cant pay and there are people who wont pay. Not every person who has debt sits on their backside watching tv all day I have to say. Some are terminally ill, some have been made redundant, some have lost a child or a close relative so have had to take time off their job and if thier self employed have no income if they take time off.
On the other side I agree with Manic mum - the people who wont pay and wont help themselves should face up to your responsibilities instead of trying to worm out of them.0 -
Jamesy mate, I don't have any debts so I have no need to try to get out of anything.0

well then it's good for you to manicmum that u r debt free, but many people r in debt, i would say i'm debt free to, because in my mind that 10k is not a debt for me, it's a hinderence for the next 5-6 years though till i can get credit again because they won't be getting a PENNY of it0

I have some sympathy for Jamesy, it appears that inside he is actually probably quite a proud person, but has difficulty admitting to himself that he is a financial failure, so gets around it with childish bluster and "do I look bovvered".0 -
ILW i am VERY proud of myself, you can call me a financial failure if that makes you feel any better but i enjoyed every penny of it and had the best time of my life, now that i know there's a way out of paying it back i will use that to my full advantage, who is the bigger failure you who pays it back r me who doesn't? yeah you might think there will be that special place in heaven for paying back your debts but i will carry on living and having the best of times with all the money i have saved0

You are a cretin. The only solace I get from this sort of thing is that people like you have no choices in life. You can not upgrade your life because you are on the run from debt. Buying a load of tat on your card doesn't last. The sofa will wear out, the clothes will wear out. And it will prevent you from moving on. I think it will take a bit more than just changing your phone number and address to escape from this. You are deluding yourself and meanwhile that interest keeps adding up.0

I take it that maths was never your strongest subject?
Lol, no it wasn't. I took the bloody subject 4 times just to get a C in my GCSE at it. The moment I walked out of it I forgot everything.
Even so if you want to send me £400 I'll ring all your credit cards and sort something out for you.
Mind you I would better advise to do it yourself for nothing and spend the £400 on something else.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -

manicmum i think you r the 1 who is deluded, you sit there on your high horse thinking you have the moral high ground because u have no debt, u most likely live off someone else r else were born with a silver spoon up your **** by the way your wrong about the intrest going up, because if you knew anything about people who don't pay there debts you will find that once they see they r getting no where they usually write 50-75% off the debt, so get your facts straight before making yourself look like a silly little person :j0
