Firstly I would like to make it 100% clear we were not banned from the store, Im not sure if my original message could be mis-interpreted, its posted at the beginning of this thread - anyway here is the reply received from Asda today

"Thank you for contacting us about your ban from our Tunstall store.

While we welcome all customers into our stores, we do have the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason. We never take the decision to ban a customer from our stores lightly, and we'll always look for a different solution first. That said, any ban is made with the full support of the general store manager. He and his colleagues know the circumstances of the banning order and so his decision is final.

I'm afraid this means we won't be overruling your local store's decision, and the ban will still stand"

So I'll let you money expert readers make your own conclusions - have they mixed things up - or is it really the case that if you complain about the service or any rude member of staff you will then face being banned from their stores.
I vote we launch an organised MSE picket outside this store in support of brother Davey.

Maybe then we could get to the bottom of the matter..
    all those in favour..?

Here's the reply I received from Asda HQ this morning

I've been speaking with Jayne Adams the People Manager at our Tunstall store. Jayne has explained that your discussions with her have been documented and we'll continue to monitor the service provided by Karen. She has also spoken with the colleague to make sure she's always providing the best possible service.

Jayne has also investigated the incident with your car. We've concluded that there's no evidence to support that Karen may have done this and therefore we're unable to take any action. However, we more than happy to work with the Police or your insurers if you wish to log this with them.

I'm once again sorry for the upset this has caused you and I really do hope you'll continue to shop with us

My opinion is it's only a question of time before this individual gets up to their tricks again & I believe will one day be caught out - until then I have now named & who knows - maybe even shamed them.

    Dohh...innocent until proven guilty..no names..could be actionable ?

I went to Asda this weekend. I'm normally a Sainsbury's girl, but thought I'd give this money saving stuff a go...

Firstly, I was starving, so thought I'd get something to eat in the cafe before doing my weekly shop. The lady at the counter served the woman infront of me, then looked at me and disappeared. No mention of "I'll be back in a minute" or anything. She then re-appeared after a couple of minutes, then vanished again. I left my tray on the counter and walked to Pizza Hut (£6.99 for 2 courses - so same price...). Manners never killed anyone!

I then did my shopping, and decided the meat looked minging, so would buy that at my local butchers. The total came to only £7 less than usual, and given I hadn't even bought meat, then in reality it would have been MORE expensive than Sainsburys. The woman on the till was grumpy and looked bored.

Examening my receipt, they overcharged on 2 items that were supposed to be half price. (I would have complained, but the queue at customer services was HUGE, so I took the £2 hit...).

After reading this thread, my advice is to shop elsewhere, because Asda are NOT cheaper, and at least in Sainsburys (my local one at least) the staff have manners!

I will not be setting foot in Asda again.

When we began shopping in Asda a few years ago the cafe was great they had an iced water machine you could use for free & if you bought a drink the refill was free ..............anyway fast forward a year or so later & it's been franchised out now theres no free iced water no free refill & seeing people get fed up of waiting to be served & abandon their trays is quite common.
I guess it wasn't making enough money before.... but so far as the rest of the store goes I do find it one of the best in terms of choice & competitive prices - obviously me being in the wrong place @ the wrong time on the day this "person" was on duty has soured things but I do intend shopping there in the future - I guess Id better stock up on car touch up paint though :D
Theres only two rules to remember
    1) Im always right
    2) See rule 1
