ASDA The customer is always wrong

As an aside, it really hacks me off when people employed by the store (shelf stackers, trolley collectors etc) seem to think THEIR job is more important than the customers who are doing their shopping.
Here's a tip - if there weren't any customers you wouldn't be needed to stack shelves or collect trolleys.
I shop between Tesco & Asda and whenever I go to Asda I always get really annoyed with their shop floor staff, they seem to think nothing of pushing infront of you with a box to put something on the shelf and won't move out of the way if they are standing infront of the item you want.0 -
What annoyed me was the attitude of the woman collecting baskets & then to say dont worry Ill go round you stay there I thought it was a bit cheeky to say the least, my wife thought I went to far by saying "well you do get paid dont you" but I am not one to stay silent if I have something to say - it was obvious to me thie assistant had a real bad attitude & just said whatever she thought it would take to get me out of the store.
When this other woman came from their office & told me they'd had a complaint that Id sworn at a member of staff I denied it & said my wifes been here all the time & can tell you what happened - her reply was that this isnt a court of law & it doesnt matter if you have a witness or not.
I said I had intended to make a complaint when I finished shopping & she stated she would be the person (from the office) who would recieve it, she did apologise for the behaviour of the person - if what I said was correct but as I said when we left the store the basket collector was chatting & joking to a colleague by the exit, she seemed as if she was pleased & had enjoyed herself.
In the past the checkout staff have always been so chatty & freindly, I have only had a couple of problems - where someones being putting stock away & Ive wanted to get something of the shelf & was made to feel in the way, I noticed a young chap stood back & folded his arms because he had to wait a moment whilst I reached past the boxes to get a pack of gravy but I chose to say nothing.
Anyway thanks for all your replies, I have now made an official complaint to Asda.Theres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10 -
let us know how you get on. I am sure you will take great delight in spending any store credit you get! heheKavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!
'I do my job, do you do yours?'0 -
Yes Ill keep you posted - if I get a reply to my complaint.
Whatever the outcome nothing can repair the upset my wife had, she hates any fuss & doesn't handle things at all well since she had a minor stroke last year, I just wish Asda would ensure all staff (not just the excellent checkout staff) treat customers with some respect & remember without us they would have no business, maybe someone from Asda will read this & other comments about shop floor staff & make some improvements, maybe their mystery shoppers could monitor all the staff & not just the checkouts ?Theres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10 -
We bought a Nintend Wii from Asda. SA said she was buying one that weekend as she sold it.
Checked box a wk later (it was for Birthday present) and the console and remote were both missing. Phoned CS they didn't believe us. They spoke to SA and said she knew by the weight of the box that the console was present.
Phoned store manager, he was most sympathetic and suggested coming down and he'd view CCTV of electronics counter (and behind).
Arrived at store to a new Wii, choice of new game as an apology and the member of staff who sold us the Wii appeared to be getting escorted from the premises.
Asda also employed the chicken licking youtube star.
Don't think I'll be shopping there again!0 -
Its funny how customers also insult the people working at stores. Some customers just need put in their place.0

no customers = no job in the first place. i get shouted at by ignorant people at work but thats their problem that they, as adults, cannot control themselves. its just part of the parcel of working with the public0
