I won ebay auction but it said i was second bidder!

  • Essentially, your max bid was £44 and your rivals max bid was £44.11 (or whatever the pence were) so they won the auction, and they won it legitimately. Even if they bid that in the final seconds, as long as it's more than the minimum of the current increment, which it was as you state that the auction was at £41.00, then they will beat your bid as the auction closes. Simple.

    You were beaten fair and square by a more savy bidder and you have been wrongly advised, either because you didn't describe the scenario correctly to the ebay rep or because you were talking to an idiot ebay rep. I win auctions like this all the time by bidding odd pence.

    Your seller is hopefully going to get a well deserved neg and non performance report, and as for yourself I advise you learn how ebay auctions actually work to avoid future messes like the one you have caused here.
