You and the seller are a pair of idiots. Why should the buyer agree to pay another 95p? His was a legitimate winning bid!

I hope I never come across either of you in my ebay dealings.

    From ebay site

    "Current Price / Bid Increment
    £0.01 - £1.00 / £0.05
    £1.01 - £5.00 / £0.20
    £5.01 - £15.00 / £0.50
    £15.01 - £60.00 / £1.00"

Seller asked other person for 95p more than he bid because ebay stuffed up and this is the bid he needed to have to beat me , he refused so seller let me have it as he should never have won with his bid.

I am sick of ebay. I have 100% positive feedback at 1678 and i have to play by ebay rules and so should they. And all you saying that you would neg the seller. I think you are the nightmares. I dont neg people as easily as you do. One item i bought recently was refunded to me and seller did not send as they "apparently" were told by ebay to send to second bidder which ebay said did not happen. Did i neg them? No. ..makes me wonder if you are one of those who neg people because the padded envelope got crumpled in th post!

You'd already had the reason why you lost explained by a few people but you have chosen to ignore that. For someone with 1678 feedback (as you love to tell us) you have a poor understanding of the workings of ebay. Also if 1678 feedback is as a buyer its pretty worthless. I think you need to reread a couple of the replies explaining what happened again because this could easily happen again, hopefully though the next seller will not attempt to rip the official buyer off.

Likewise! because that is according to ebay bidding policy. It is very clear of what next bid has to be, and again even the ebay contact numebr that i called agreed with me. I bet you would just accept it if it was your item.

With the money that i pay ebay each month i expect them to run auctions correctly. If you sell 50 items like this then you are losing out on £50!

You are either stubborn or just plain stupid.

The bid increment required was £1 above the CURRENT bid, not your max bid.

If you sell 50 items like this then you are sure to end up with 50 Negs.

It is mainly as a seller.Mine was officially the current bid though. and i don't love to tell you by the way. There is no need to be rude to me , at least i make sure that i actually send people their items!;)http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=25157317&highlight=#post25157317

Leaving this thread now as i seller has now agreed with me aswell as ebay and sending me the item. TBH i don't need anymore stress today as my cat was put down yesterday and i realy am in the mood as i could really get nasty and it is not who i am!
So insult me all you like but i won't be reading it.

Thanks for helpful answers those of you who put it in a polite way.

I have found an example of why you are wrong OP (took some searching). Now according to you bidder 8 should have won, but didn't, I have highlighted in red the salient parts.

You really should contact the seller and thank them but point out you have made an error and they should really post it to the legitimate bidder. Otherwise they will get a neg.

Actually, if you sell 50 items like this, (for £41 rather than £45.05), you're losing out on £2.50, getting 50 negs, non performing seller ratings, paying fees on the £41.05, and then re-selling off ebay. (I'll sell you one for £41 as well if you like, just gift me the money through paypal first)

Unless of course they are going to post it to the legitimate bidder and then take the OPs money and run (because presumably this is off ebay).
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine
:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:
I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

Then he will be back on here whining again.

What did you buy anyway OP? A job lot of dummies to spit and toys to throw out of your pram?
  • I've won auctions like this before - I always tack on a few extra pence, especially if it is something I really want. I just put in my maximum bid less than a day before the auction ends and leave it to it. The automated system takes care of the rest. I can't see that anything can be done about it, he bid more than enough above the bid that was current at the time, his max bid was more than yours so it went to him.
