I bought my dress, it's pretty much the dress i'd imagined but was told i'd not be able to get. Was on sale and need no alterations except the shoulder strap which kept slipping down. Talk about fate!

Talk about luck!
I'm wobbling again, I think it's because I want to change the back into a lace up and I can't envisage it yet.
I have my eye on another one 'just incase' and it's the complete opposite to the one I have now:heart2: 'Tied the Knot' Saturday 9th October 2010 :heart2::blushing: Member of Diet Club October 2010 Brides and Grooms :blushing:Starting Weight: 14 stone 10.8lbsCurrent Weight: 13 stone 2lbsTotal loss: 21.8lbs :j0 -

That's something that i keep thinking about, i love lace up backs but the dress doesn't have one, i might look into it.
I've also changed the plans for after the ceremony, so we're not having a meal as time will be too tight, thankfully the reception venue are able to do something so we have somewhere to have speeches etc.0 -

I'm trying to find somewhere to alter it, I'll let you know how much it's costing x
Oh BTW my Gran topped up our Wedding fund by £500 :A I can stop panicking now after being told the chuch fees were £785 not including banns to be read in 2 churches:heart2: 'Tied the Knot' Saturday 9th October 2010 :heart2::blushing: Member of Diet Club October 2010 Brides and Grooms :blushing:Starting Weight: 14 stone 10.8lbsCurrent Weight: 13 stone 2lbsTotal loss: 21.8lbs :j0 -
Totally gutted ~ I'm on the hunt for a dress again!
The first one won't go anywhere near me, mind you, I did buy it in March 2008 before I had the baby lol!
The 2nd one is big, but it would also need altering in the length and I just think it's too 'grand' for a reg office wedding, so those 2 are on eBay now along with other stuff so we can pay off the wedding.
So, I was bidding on a gorgeous Ronald Joyce dress ~ and I lost in the last second to someone else:(:(
It was perfect and it wouldn't have needed altering at all, damn damn damn!
Oh a happy note, my Mum has offered to pay for the photographer, so that would be one less worry! :jTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Shell, give me some pointers and a size and I can go hunting for you tonight? x:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

shellsuit, keep hunting, something will turn up im sure!
just thought id share my recent goings on, first dress fitting yesterday, and it fits really well, just length needs altering. yay!
also have done invites, finalised our cake, found a hairdresser, and started doing some of the crafty things i needed to, - have made our cake toppers and mine and sis bouquet, and my nieces have wire pomanders which i have added beads and flowers to. if anyones interested in seeing them i can upload some pics.
feeling really on top of things at the moment.
also want your opinion ladies. Am thinking if my nerves will hold, that i would like to sing at some point in the wedding. I wanted to do a speech, but i will make myself sick over that, singing i enjoy, so although i get a bit of stage fright i know i will be ok. Three things though
1. is it just tacky? i dont want people to look at me and think what the hell is she doing - i want to not care what other people think - but i do!
2. the song i want to sing is Adele - to make you feel my love. Now i adore this song and to me it says how completely i love him, and understand that it wont always be perfect but i will always be there. then i watched the video, and that makes it seem like its about someone who doesnt have the person they love, who is so desperately in love with someone but its not returned.... what do you all think?
and finally
3. if i decide to do it then at what point do you think would be good? was thinking ceremony would be nice, but its in an art gallery so very public (bit hard on nerves) and i will probably be quite nervous through ceremony, and wont have had a drink at that point! lol could do it during speeches, or could do it at some point in the evening, at the beginning i think, then have a bit of dancing then first dance. opinions?getting married: 02/10/10

Hi bubbles, just wanted to say about number 2..... its your interpretation of the song that matters, and the fact it is special to you, so don't let the story the video tell put you off...... We're having our first dance to Paulo Nutini's Last Request which is about splitting up really, but it has really special meaning to us!!
I'm having my little lad sing and play his guitar at our Wedding.... he will be 11.... he is doing that instead of doing a reading..... He's a huge Green Day fan but luckily there is one song that fits.... he's just changed a coupe of the words!!!
Its yours and your H2Bs day and you should do what you want and will be happy with!! x♥.0 -
Bubble if you want to do it then I say go ahead
I want to do a daft dance for our first but OH won't even consider it
I also want our eldest daughter to sing, she has a fantastic voice at only 8, she makes me cry and I know it will top the day off:heart2: 'Tied the Knot' Saturday 9th October 2010 :heart2::blushing: Member of Diet Club October 2010 Brides and Grooms :blushing:Starting Weight: 14 stone 10.8lbsCurrent Weight: 13 stone 2lbsTotal loss: 21.8lbs :j0 -
hey, thanx, thats what i thought - it can be interpreted in different ways.
snoopysox, how lovely to have your son play, very special, im learning the guitar too and the chords to the song i want arent to hard so am really going to practice and see if i can play aswell, as think that would be special for my OH and my dad too.
chelbel, we wanted to do a jive, but im to useless, but i think the funny dances are hilarious, is there no way you can convince him?! a friend of mine has been trying to convince me to do a dance off at the end of the night, like at the end of the film hitch, OH agreed whilst watching it drunk, and promptly changed his mind the next day. The idea of your daughter singing is lovely, would she like to do it? i am a nanny, and the 8 year old i look after was really dissapointed shes not a bridesmaid, was thinking of asking her to do a reading or something, as shes a very confident reader, but shes got to a stage where shes suddenly really self conscious, so havent asked her yet, dont want to put pressure on her. its a funny age 8 isnt it.getting married: 02/10/10
