Well picked dress up from Postoffice and daughter tried it on and........................
Its perfect!!! Its got a lace-up back with plenty of spare fabric so growing room is there!
Plus just got confirmation from make up lady and she chucked in an unasked for discount for booking at wedding fair, so thats only £58.50 for me and daughter's make up at the venue and a trial for me beforehand. Chuffed silly as other quotes were around £100 for the same!
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:
  • ... catching up slowly but surely! Venue now booked and deposit paid. Have booked the registrar. Photographer will be booked as of this evening and we've had a recommendation for a band who we're going to see perform at the end of the month.
would really like to have sage green BM's but can't seem to find any off the peg atm. What colours are you gals having?

For Bridesmaids dresses I am just not sure. I'm only having OH's younger sister and she's going to be 13 by the time we get married and is such a tom boy that I have no idea what to do with her. Ideally I want her in Burgundy as my sash on my dress is burgundy.

Sounds like you're doing well! I've hit a lull now where I don't know what to do next.

I'm Burgundy too, I found this on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200399237989&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT and my daughter will be 13 also, she looks stunning in it! :D

That looks gorgeous! Such a bargain as well. Good find there Franny.

When I get a car I'll go and see her and see what she thinks. When she found out we were getting married she wanted to know whether she would be able to wear her new Nike Air trainers. I hope she was joking.

aww. well done all of you who are getting your bm's sorted!

I am having our three dd's as our bm's. I might have two adult ones but toying with the idea although both have agreed to pay for their own dress if i do choose to use them. :) It all depends on how much weight I lose before cos no way are my adult bm's gonna be slimmer than me come my wedding day. :P

I put on a fair bit of weight with my last dd (she is now 18m) and I have lost all but a stone. I can't stand the cabbage soup diet. I tend to stick with teh egg one although i have never completed a week, I usually do about three days but not religiously and then stick with a slimming world type plan for a while after but my loss has really slowed down of late because i can't seem to motivate myself. With it being winter (COLD!) and having been poorly, I have been feeding on foods with a bit more fat and sugar than i normally would. I did put on 4.5lbs but in the last couple of weeks, i have lost another 1.5lbs so hopefully, I'm back on track.

Going to see a venue on saturday (unless anything goes wrong. really starting to panic about not having one now!) but we shall see.

My plan is once we have booked the venue, i will start to look for my dress as i will have decided on a colour theme by then. I want to base my theme around the room to save a bit of money and i have so many that i like, its prob the best way to decide. All i know is i will NOT have ivory and pink. I did want cream and gold but h2b is insiting on white so that puts gold out cos i am not keen on white and gold solo.

I am hoping my friend will do the photos. she is doing my friends wedding which is on 21st and h2b said he will look at them and decide if he is happy with her style. if not, i have actually budgeted for a photographer but would be great to not have to pay thru the nose if i can avoid it. being in london hikes up the price of everything and mention wedding, same thing happens! i am trying to make savings without compromising on the traditional aspects too. :)

I am hoping to get my BM dresses in the January sales , I'm going for Midnight Blue and hoping to find a silver wedding dress.I've got my eye on a dress from Debenhams for my adult BM and I've seen some lovely dresses in Monsoon for my youngest daughter. My fall back plan is black with silver.I'm hoping that some of the fake fur cover ups will be in the sale too!!
I've not started looking for my dress yet except scouring the internet of course, I'm hoping to lose a bit of weight first, although I'm not sure that sitting in front of the telly eating buscuits is working.
We've hopefully got a photographer sorted through a recommendation from a friend and it's £500 all in, I haven't seen his albumns yet but it does include a CD with all the photos. I've also got a quote for a cake which seems fairly reasonable but just need to see if I can pay the deposit after Christmas (got 10% off at a wedding fair)
Can't wait to go dress shopping though dreading not finding anything in my price range - what does anyone think about hiring a dress? I thought it might be an option as I'd get to wear an expensive dress and I'm realistically never going to wear it again.
  • I've just seen some midnight blue dresses, hand on and I'll find them again
