Otherwise Time Travellers Wife is an amazing book - film was excellent but the book is very very good.

Haven't seen the film but the book is brilliant. Everyone in the family read it and loved it, even the teenage boys. Funny, romantic, ingenious and sad.

Doing OK on the drink, now over 19 weeks AF. Still tempted occcasionally when I see OH with a glass of chilled white wine, but I know it would be a mistake. (Funny, I always did know it was a mistake when I was drinking but it never made a bit of difference:confused:.)

Best wishes to all... and Budgie I am sorry life is so stressful for you now, you give so much to other people - take time to care for yourself.
  • Sorry, been really lax about posting - bad Catzpaws!

Hope everyone's well. Can you update my new total to 14, pls?

  • That book is brilliant! It is one of the best I have read!

Can't comment on the film as I haven't seen it and usually when I've read the book I don't like the adaptations for the films :D

For once I wasn't dissappointed - although I had to check itout before taking DD - as the books a bit racy!

AF weekend so please put me down for 26 please YM.
Really turned a huge corner yesterday as had a family get together first time we all got together since my dad died and everyone was drinking masses (as usual!) but I stayed on water throughout. Feeling totally chuffed with myself and feel if I can get through that without a drink, then I can get through anything. I really enjoyed myself too, so I dont feel as if I was "missing out" on anything, and after everyone had had a couple they didnt really notice that I wasnt drinking alcohol either, so I didnt feel like the odd one out. Interestingly, watching people get more and more drunk, I just though, thank God that isnt me!! Waking up with a clear head this morning to go to work was yet another thing that makes me realise I made the right decision yesterday.
Thanks GC for the wise words over the past weeks, I think I am coming to realise that, like you, I need to stay AF rather than cut down. Having one or two just wouldnt have worked for me yesterday - I would have felt somehow "cheated" to not continue drinking for the rest of the day. Funny how that logic works...
I hope everyone has a great week.

  • Hi everyone...been a bit lazy of late with logging on and catching up and posting but have been busy. YM, I have achieved 2 of my 4 for September please.

Interview went well and was offered the job last week. Agency arguing for more money on my behalf and a few other issues with the offer but it looks promising, apart from being slightly insulted by the salary!!

Hope everyone is well and feeling good today.....sun in shining in Wales.

    xx
  • Havn't been on here for ages, have been very very busy, have just stared doing Avon and that has been taking up a lot of my spare time....just wanted to say that I am on 8/27 please YM...which I know is rubbish, but I had such a hard time getting out of holiday mode, last week was much better though, have stared a diet so this is helping me to cut out the alcohol....

    Hope everyone is well..

As I was so useless last night the next two days will be AF for me definitely. I want to get 10 AF days this month at least.
