Been trying to catch up all day long, manager keeps popping her head round the door everytime I log on
Was bad last night and was upset this morning, but luckily feel happier now so don't have to bore you with the details :rotfl:
Had to call an ambulance for a colleague this morning that looked like he was about to have a heart attack this morning, he's had a previous one earlier in the year. Paramedics were questioning him about his history and it came to light that he was/is (??) a heavy drinker and this is what caused the heart attack in the first place. I know he still drinks and smokes like a chimney. He looked so frightened, I wonder if this is enough to make him stop? I doubt it, considering the attack he had that the paramedics had to save his life from didn't work.
It's amazing how powerful addictions are.
ETA: just heard colleague had a silent heart attack, thank fudge I insisted I called an ambulance!!! :eek:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Ermm, what's it called again  :rotfl:
Time travellers wife
tutt tutt indeed
Been thinking - inspired by Martha's dad and the extra I know I have been putting to debts (and some treats) how would everyone feel if I asked for a 'roughly what would you have spent on alcohol' ie what's your fav tipple and how much would you spend on a normal drinking night
Theory is (bear with me here) it's a moneysaving site with this wonderful thread - and money also money saving also motivates us all- any extra motivation is good.
AFD's are Good for health, good for wealth
Therefore (ahem) what do you guys think of giving me ONE figure each for average alcohol spend per day and ONE for your pledged AFD's (or just the figure if you've already pledged)
ie for me it would be a bottle wine £4.99
so each AFD would be saving for me £4.99 - ie AFD's 31 days = £154.69 that s how much I use to spend (at least) every month  Now I use it for PAD's
and I can add up the AFD's and the total AF savings for the month of Oct????
Its for added motivation on our October AF Adventure?
And yes I am insane offeringTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Brilliant idea and good to be scientific and have some hard facts!!
For me, it is £3.33 for bottle of wine per day plus extra at weekends, plus extra for g&ts etc - so average of £5 per day.
I have pledged 23 days for October (I hope to do better than that though) so that's a total of £115 saved.Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Great idea to show the monetary savings too. It has worked for me so far (see signature) I put away £4 a day...(.that would be about right although I`d often buy a expensive £8 bottle to last 2 days).
I really really am astounded by how quickly it has built up.:j:j
May even be able to afford a holiday....wow!

am entering data and doing spreadsheets at work and being a 'secret scientist today - just dont ask me to analyse the data
Hence the ideawaves to Mrs Dee and SSA
Happy to add up anyones spends - but it does act as a bit of motivation doesnt it?
Last year I bribed myself with my AFD money and got a lovely northface down jacket (which I could never have afforded) and my flowery doc martens for workTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

That would be £1.34 per day for me. It is calculated as 2 litre of sherry per week. Rushing off to do some dog walking, back later. Will be AFD for me today as left my purse oop noorth. Need to go to bank tomorrow to sort out some cash but today (after using my emergency stash for some milk and P&R ticket) I've got a fiver left and that is so not going towards alcohol. YM 28 for me please, so close to hit my target this month which gives extra insentive."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Well done. It is amazing how quickly it adds up, isnt it, and here was I saying how I could never afford x, y, z but it was never a problem to buy alcohol to drink every day. Quite shameful really... Fantastic incentive though to persevere with AF days as everyone really does mean extra £££ in the pocket/savings account, whatever....Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...
