  • Interesting idea Fay.
Would buy 8 cans of stella for £7.50, drink two or three a night, sometimes four. So I'd say £2.81 a day.

Tis indeed difficult to read when plastered  another good AF mechanism :D

Well most of us read Marian Keynes ..............I'd be keen!

The book I forgot earlier was:

'The woman who walked into doors'
    Roddy Doyle ISBN-10: 0749395990

    200+ used for 1p on amazon:rotfl:
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

  • My daily spend on a drinking day would be about £7. Nearly £220 a month, and that's just me my husband drinks more than I do . What could we do with that? Well I have 'saved' £14 already with my 2 AF in September and I have pledged 10 for October so next week I am buying a new handbag next month sod what my OH says;).
I love the idea of a book club; could I recommend Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky? It's no bundle of laughs but it is brilliant
    January AF target 15 days - 6/15

:D That's the spirit if you pardon the pun :D although I live alone so I can spend my newly saved cash on anyting I want - use [STRIKE]me [/STRIKE] the motivation to save money as an excuse to Hubby if you like..................:rotfl:

  • What a great idea Fay for the savings. I would say mine averages out at £6 per day.

And I love the book club idea too. Shame we can't all swap books and make super money-savings! :money:
I would like to suggest a book (mostly for the laydeees I would have thought) called "A Hopeless Romantic" by Harriet Evans. It was a wonderful, fun read about the love life of a hugely likeable main character called Laura . It's sort of along the lines of Bridget Jones, if I had to make a comparison. I couldn't put it down and was a bit sad when I finished it, because I'd enjoyed it so much!

Fay, the woman who walked into doors is one of my favourite books! Im getting goosebumps just thinking of it. A very sad but true tale x

Fay once again managed to text me the minute I was about to walk into offy, the word stick was mentioned, insert eek smiley! Came out of said shop with a packet of twiglets and nothing else.

Will have to log in on my phone tonight cos OH in a poker tournament online 'rollseyes' so smileys will be written and spelling errors obligatory :)

Will be trying to catch up with you lot and read a bit more of my marian book tonight :)

  • Waves to Jo well done lovie :0

Fluffy B it is me :) so duly noted

Cazza - if you have that book i'd happily borrow it and pay the postage? Its sort of liek a book club then?? 60p should be about the size of a paperbacks postage? What do you think

PHEW - glad you all the responses to the money saving are positive - thought maybe it was a step too far - I just know how much it motivated me last year when I started out on this thread :)

My kids go for 2 weeks to France in October again (*sigh Daddies turn again*) so I know I need to keep myself busy and motivated.

Thinking up what I might be able to 'save/splurge' my money on for staying AF in Oct

Maybe a flight..................I could look into the MSE Scottish meet (Festive Fling) in Edinburgh......how outrageous?

Away for a bath with candles and a book and then out comes the spreadsheet for a bit of work - :)

And I really do have several big sticks - and am about to purchase my very own chain saw soon - so watch out chaps and chapessess :)
