  • Good morning everyone. Thank you so much for your support and welcoming me back :A
I'm happy to report that I was AF yesterday so that's 2 please HB.
I so want to reach a point when the first thing I think of when I get home from work isn't sitting down with the first glass of wine of the evening. However, I agree with maman, if I can get past 'the bells' and get busy with making dinner etc and DONT have the first one I'm reasonably ok. The problem is if I DO have the first one I just keep on until I go to bed:(

    Have a good day everyone.

I can identify with that Su. I'm definately not one of the "one with dinner" brigade. I just can't stop at one. I was getting into the habit of getting home from work and opening the bottle before I even STARTED dinner (I get in from work between 7 and 8pm most nights) and then I would keep going till whole bottle had gone. If we can break that habit of that first drink I think we're already halfway there. Good luck

Cried at Jeremy Kyle (well not actually at him iykwim), very sad, had a bloke on that lost his son in 2007 after a drinking session, he poisoned himself, the lad was only early 20's :( He was playing the drinking game they'd seen in American Pie where you keep drinking shots till you can drink no more. He had 'won', the other lad had to stop and then threw it all up. His son was so drunk and they put him to bed to sleep it off but died in his sleep. The friend thought he was alright cos he was snoring but apparently that's the first sign of alcohol poisoning

    Very sad :(

Sweet stuff don't normally bother me at all - savoury stuff is my thing (at crimbo I ate a whole packet of those battered jalapeno doodahs by myself!!!!) but once I start a diet I crave biscuits....wierd!

I've now googled alcohol poisoning and had no idea of the symptoms to look out for. It could happen to any of us at anytime, as it also depends on what you've eaten, what medication you might be on as well as height, weight etc.

It says that giving coffee and letting them sleep it off is the wrong thing to do. Sips of water and sitting up keeping them awake is what you need to do.
