  • Now it is days like yesterday and today when I would normally think: "Sod it" and have some wine. But what I have realised is that doing this does not change what has already occured. So that is the difference, I am stopping and thinking firstly.

Good for you BB. Hope you are ok after your fall.

HEY CHAPS HELLO - I'VE DECIDED TO KEEP MYSELF BUSY AND CHANGE SOMETHING IN MY LIFE (DON'T LAUGH TOO MUCH) I'VE JOINED THE LIVE ON 4K FRUGAL CHALLENGE (NO ROOM FOR BOOZE PURCHASES IN THAT)

I HOPE YOU ARE ALL OK - I NEED A FOCUS THAT'S NOT WINE - SO HOPING SOMETHING LIKE THIS MIGHT HELP (OR I MIGHT JUST BE DELUSIONAL) AND I MAY HAVE NO JOB AFTER NEXT FRIDAY SO PERHAPS LOTS OF TIME TO OBSESS ABOUT FRUGALITY RATHER THAN WINERY

AWAY FOR A CATCH UP THEN WILL SAY HELLO PROPERLY pbt WELL DONE ON NO WINE AND BB I HOPE YOU ARE OK?

eta - SU HONEY HAVE A HUG - MANY OF US HAVE BEEN THERE

I'VE DECIDED AFTER NEXT WEEK AND MY ASSESSMENT AT WORK I AM GOING TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH OUR LOCAL ALCOHOL ADVISORY PLACE - IF I NEEDED SPECS I'D GO TO AN OPTITION EH?

Thanks Pbt I am ok, just very sore and aching, hope you are ok too? Hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fay I am fine thankyou well done on joining the 4k challenge, and no there won't be any room for wine purchases on that challenge. You know you can be strong, you did so well last year, but I fear it is the same for most of us, that once we have some we want more, more, more. I am trying to do the 365af challenge, think it was our Darlin JO that has gotten me into that one? Big hugs and take care matey. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I also meant to say Changing Ways well done on being af since May last year, I hadn't realised it has been so long. Really well done :T (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh and Honey Bear, just noticed your signature, well done on getting your debt down :T it must motivate you on, knowing you are beating it so to speak. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi and hugs to Pricey too (()) xxxxxxxxxxxx

MollyPolly hope you are ok hunny in our Stokie town? (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Eselt thinking of you sweetheart (()) xxxxxxxxxxx

Ahem! Hello, looooong time no see......we were about 120 pages ago last time I was here so excuse me for not catching up on ALL the posts. I hope you're all well? Jo only just saw the pm's (should be pms can't stand needless apostrophes but in the circs....) haven't logged in since I don't know when. Sorry you were worried, hate to think I've done that to anyone. Obviously I've not forgotten you all or wouldn't be here now!

Glossing over the last few weeks........sliiiiide.........

4th Jan 2005 was the day I stopped smoking so 4th Jan 2010 is the day...... I don't stop drinking :rotfl:. But seriously folks, back to the old womo clause as of Monday & indeed am on day 3 af, shock!! Am particularly pleased about today cos stuck at home - it's just too HOT to do anything isn't it? - & is a classic time to open a (couple of) bottles, bored, fed up, but didn't.

Have got plenty in house as wouldn't want to endanger self by venturing out having to get some, but it hasn't called to me yet or even whispered, but it will. Might as well be here cos I WILL do out & get it if I want it enough, will cross that bridge when I get to it.

    Also dieting....

I've returned as Superwoman! I even got a silly gold crown in my xmas cracker!!

Looking forward to finding out who's still around & meeting newbies x

P.S only here til 9pm - anyone else watching Above Suspicion ITV? Most disgusting thing I've ever seen mustn't miss last episode.
  • Good Evening from the only area that remained snow free last night. Schools were closed though as surrounding areas got 2 foot .
Result two happy sons, but peeved at lack of white fluffy stuff. I hear Sunday may bring more.

Anyway reporting 6/31 as I'm just about to snuggle up to watch Gordon...
Hope you all take it easy tomorrow in the big freeze. We have nothing to freeze :(

  • Evening.

Hope you are okay BB after your fall. I know what you mean about the roads. I took my DD to school this morning, only to find it shut, rushed her home to be with Dad, and the car skated across a roundabout.

Luckily there was nothing coming the other way. DD had a look of shock across her face.

Every step you take outside is a baby step in case you fall. Hope everyone is okay.

HB 6AF for Jan to report. Not missing it again now, like I never had any at xmas. Looking forward to picking my charm out:T at the end of the month.

Well done Fay on making the decision to live on 4K:eek: I am sure that will occupy you, and keep you away from any drink. Well done to on the decision to go to the A advisory Clinic.

I'm still dieting, hoping to squeeze into some smaller jeans for my hols, in 12 days time:eek:

Thats if I get get through the snow!!

    Stay strong everyone.

Winebox, see I missed you by 3 minutes :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Honestly, I typed as fast as I could ;)

Hope you don't leave it so long again ..............

Ps IM thankyou I am ok and so glad you are too. Well done on another af day :T You will so deserve your charm (s) ;) I too am feeling very positive, I think the not drinking full stop is the way to go. I did much better doing that in the first 6 months of last year. Once I started drinking again I felt myself going back to where I first started. I can drink very little when I am out and that doesn't bother me, however if I open a bottle of wine at home I don't just have one glass, I will finish the bottle.

If I take the decision not to drink then that is the easier option, there is nothing to decide then re: should I have wine or not  is one bottle enough or not:confused: If I don't drink then I won't do or say something that I may regret later. I have thought long and hard about what Graeme says: my conclusion is that I do not want alcohol to have control over me. I am this year going to try and live my life in a more positive and beneficial way for myself and others. I want to feel fulfilled in my life and when my time comes to an end, I want to look back and think that I am happy with the way I lived it.

Alcohol makes you lazy you put off doing what you plan, you rush things also just so as you can open that bottle of wine that has been on your mind all day. We don't spend enough time appreciating what we have, many who are young Mums say that when they don't drink they read, play with their children etc. I was lucky as alcohol did not really play a part in my life when my Ds was small, it is as he has grown up that I probably started to drink to fill some kind of a void.

I like you all. can change, it is having the desire and the intent that is needed. As I say at the moment deciding not to drink is the best option for me................................

Sorry for the waffle  what I intending to post was hugs to IM (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
