    Hi all

3 for me please, honey wan kenobi....... :)

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D
  • Good morning everyone and a very belated Happy New Year:hello:. Hugs to all who need them and well done to people who have made such a good start to 2010. :T
I haven't been signing in since the week before Christmas (although I have been lurking occasionally) because things went completely pearshaped re the demon drink. I went to my office 'do' - p****d was rude to a colleague's OH (he's a creep but that's no excuse). My husband's company party - p****d was sick in the Ladies. Since I'm the boss's wife it's not a good look :o. My drinking at home went back to the way it was before I found this thread - 1 - 2 bottles of wine a day plus a fair bit of malt whisky. Things culminated last weekend with a screaming drunken rant at my husband during which I threw a paperweight at him which missed him but smashed a mirror:eek:.
I have to get a grip and realise that my alcohol problem is probably more serious than I had been kidding myself. I need to have a serious think as to whether alcohol can be part of my life at all long term.

I was AF yesterday and intend to manage 14 more (at least) in January. HB could you put me on the list please?

Oh su, what a nightmare. Welcome back to normality (?), lots of empathy on here.

Hope everyone safe and sound, not sleeping rough on A3?

Well done in coming back to this thread dreamonsu.
You have admitted you have a serious problem with drink, and that's the first step to changing the current situation.

Our other halves have to put up with a lot, but there comes a time for many when they say "Enough is enough" and walk out. And who can blame them?

While we can only stop drinking for ourselves, we have to recognize the hurt and pain our drinking causes in others. For every alcoholic, there are many other family members and friends caught up in the painful, destructive chaos.

Some people never get help and die of alcoholism, some lose family, houses, jobs, health etc first. Some get help before they lose too much.
I know which option I'd advise you to take

    Afternoon all.

Su, you have my total sympathy and understanding. Have been there and done that and just last week ended up ranting at someone (very rudely) whilst under the influence.

At home with just my DH I can have one and stop I have found. But put me in a 'party' situation or celebratory mood and it's all pear shaped!

HB, I'm on two so far this January. Had a glass last night, must break the christmas habit.

Got to rush, got appointment with my kids teacher.
    Trying to keep in budget.

I am going Harpic with this blimming snow. School has been closed today and will be tomorrow as well. Working from home with 5 year old around is not my idea of fun. Ok, at least I am able to work. Despite that house is AF and not going to trek to the shop for another time so day no 6 please HB. Oh and happy the end of xmas everyone.

  • Hi all

    5 for me please, HB

Two eldest DDs back to school tomorrow, but youngest DD does not have to go - good thing that Mr PIR is here tomorrow (nothing will be tidy when I get home but at least DD3 won't have been home alone).

    It is so COLD!

    Hope everybody is OK

    Hi guys,

Just a very quick post tonight from Budgie.

Another fraught day here in Budgie land. Couldn't get our car out of our cul de sac today it just spun and we had no control over it. So I had to get out and go and ring my Dad to ask him to come to the main road in his car so as I could get to work.

On my way back to the house I slipped and fell flat on my back  so now my back hurts too and I have mouth ulcers.

Apart from that everything is cushty. ;)

Now it is days like yesterday and today when I would normally think: "Sod it" and have some wine. But what I have realised is that doing this does not change what has already occured. So that is the difference, I am stopping and thinking firstly.

So to our very own Care Bear, Dear Honey B that is 6 out of 6 please hunny, hope you are ok and that you are not snow bound? Hugs to you and I hope Bear Towers is nice and warm? (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Miss P yes it was sweet of Mr BB to come and meet me, hope you and little piglet are ok? Hope the weight loss goes well hunny, big hugs to you both (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Su hunny big hugs and you have certainly had a very rough time, the positive to take from this is that you have realised that you must address your problem. That in itself is a huge step forward, I wish you well sweetheart and I do hope that you can move on and get to where you want to be. Big Budgie hugs and take care. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hugs to you all, have to fly will try and pop back?
Btw Jo has not posted today, hope she is ok
God Bless and I hope everyone is safe?
    Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxx
