  • Evening all,

Snow and ice causing lots of disruption here too, can't wait for life to get back to normal.

HB - Can you count me in for the AF Jan challenge please? I'm not going to count days or report them daily as that just seems to make me focus on counting down the days til I can 'legitimately' have a drink.

Feel like it's got to be all or nothing. I don't drink. Them's the rules. End of!

Feeling a bit apprehensive but quite positive. Did some drinking over xmas and felt horrible after small amounts - dehydrated, awake at 4am, upset tummy etc.

    Onwards and upwards...

    Thanks xx

More than happy too :D Although it will be a tad tricky with no target & no updates :p

I'll add you on with us question markers & just let me know how you're getting on when you feel like it - have you got any days already? :)

    good evening all

Well it's looking all very wintery here in the beautiful Cathedral City of Lincoln so am curled up on sofa with pot of tea surrounded by cats who are lounging on any available radiator.
So with that in mind I'm happy to declare 4AFD's please HB

    Thanks

  • No snow here in Wilts but apparently it's on it's way. I do hope so otherwise I will have one very disappointed DS. Back to work for me today, love my job so all good there. Having to deal with some 'stuff' and I'm feeling very proud that I'm not using the booze to 'deal' with it.

All positive if slightly chilly here!

    5 for me please.

Have to agree GG. All or nothing seems to be the way forward. I'd love to be one of those people who have a civilised glass of wine with their dinner, the kind that actually use wine stoppers  But I and it seems so many other people on here, know one is just never enough.

    Good Luck.

  • I have just had a thought...I do that from time to time! I feel the need to share...in fact i'm going to do something radical (for an oldtimer like me) and search for a link and post it. This sums up me at the moment (in a very positive way!)...I vaguely remember someone having a line from this song in their sig?????????

    Hello my friends,

Well what a frazzle of a day Dear Budgie has had, set off to work this morning with Mr BB driving he did not think he would be able to get the car back home so he got me half way there and then I walked the rest of the way. Budgie's thinking was I will get a taxi back, DOH the taxi firm took their cabs off the road all day. The main bank in the town I work closed too  So Budgie was in a flap, I rang my boss to say that I was having to walk home and as I was not prepared to walk in the dark I was leaving very early. To be fair he was fine, I have said I will make the time up.

To cut a long story short, Mr BB set off from home and he met me halfway to walk back with me, there is quite a dodgy country road with no pavement. We were going to stop at a pub, BUT ONLY FOR A COFFEE. But that was closed too

So it took poor Budgie 2 hours to walk home and my boots were so soaking they leaked so my poor feet were squelching. But instead of begruding the walk, I thought to myself at least I am able to walk the distance and I felt thankful I am fit enough.

And there my Dear Friends is the difference, I managed to turn a negative into a positive and that is the key to changing how we/I think. ;)

So to the Bear that cares ;) Yes you my Dear HoneyB make it 5 outta 5 please, so glad to hear that the mice problem is being addressed. I fear you have no choice and it is a means to an end. Big hugs and take care (())xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fay would love to see ya, ;) and no excuses would be given here. Big hugs and nice to have you back. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Pricey hugs hunny sorry to hear about your Mums appointment, but Manchester has been hit very hard, don't venture in tomorrow if it is bad. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bhb thanks for that matey, do you know I had that tune in my mind ;) hope the hand is ok? (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gien, 115k and GG nice to see you both back, take care and hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Graeme hugs and I see I am not the only on who thinks you are fab, :A hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear Lurky and YM hugs and take care (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Miss P sorry to hear about the tablets but well done on not drinking :T hope you and the adorable piglet are ok? (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well had an email asking me to call this phone volunteer line, rang as I was home early and there was no one there to take my call  so I have left a message and sent another email. Quite troubled as it is for vulnerable people and if they are ringing and then no one can get back to them until the day after  though I guess it may be down to the weather. I will see how it all pans out.

Waves to Jo, Maman, Mari, Wbf, Squizz, Marru, Bis,Pbt, Fedup, Ra, SSA, Dizzy D, Lincs, Cazza, 40sm, Cw, Shaggy, Fh, 69Chick, Kittie,Dc, Md, IM,Eselt (hope you are ok), MP glad you could work from home today. Hugs to you all and to everyone else I haven't mentioned. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    God Bless Budgie
