    Evening all :D

FUAS, sorry for making you want a take away tonight, I'm sure it must've been my fault mentioning Chinese earlier :D

MP, there you are! Not 'seen' you for ages. I love Rocky Horror, doubt you'll do much damage with a feather whip though ;) Thanks for the kind words :)

Spent the entire afternoon making a lego city with DS, it's the police one with police men, robbers in handcuffs and little jail cells with toilets and beds. Then we assembled, 2 motorbikes, 1 helicopter, 1 police car and 1 police van......my eyes feel like they are popping out of my head, the bits were so small!!

Here's what it looks like (not the actual photo, but identical!)

    lego-city-7744-340pix.jpg

OH finally got up out of bed at 3.30pm, said he felt awful and was just gonna watch the last half of the footie then go back to bed so I nipped down to Mr T's, came back and he was huffing, puffing, moaning and sighing, then what do you know.....at end of footie (when OH was so exhausted he was going to go straight back to bed), his phone rung and his mate persuaded him to go to pub. His mate is a genuine munchausen healer. Although I already said earlier today that this is probably what was going to happen, it kinda caught me off guard and I immediately though 'DD1 is at Boyf's, OH is out all night, 2 young kids going bed soon, I'm home alone and can drink without any interference!! :D:D:D' then I remembered :undecided

OH went out pretty sharpish after that, I've got 2 kids that were in pajamas and I'm not going to bundle them in the car to go to the shop so no drinking for me tonight. Liver still hurts, hoping it stops tomorrow with my abstinence today.

Off to finish the last bit of the outside of the lego jail, it's took us about 4 hours and now he's gotta go bed so no time to play with it :rotfl: then off to eat choklit and read my Marian Keyes book, I'm only 1/4 way through at the moment and the character I'm reading is irritating me a little and I'm looking forward to moving on to the next one. Just for the record, when I was reading Lola's bit at the start I actually likened her writing to a cross between Fay and WB :rotfl:

Right, need choklit, will be back though no doubt, I presume you're all watching Strictly or the other one, I'm not watching any, got 3 weeks of XF to catch up with, plus a whole week's worth of Enders and How Clean is Your House from last week, dunno where I found the time to drink!!

    xx

  • Hi all,

Well AF 2nite for 1st time this month (!)....been a bit too ashamed to post & report my 'failure'..so to speak!

Not at work at mo.........hoping to go back on a flexible basis soon & have been very down about this & things....so the evening alcohol 'numbs' it for just a few hours & then you feel crap most of the next day!!!!!!!!

My 'bells' for want of a better description rang for only 1/2 an hour fairly strongly from 6-6-30 & slightly from 5-6 & 6-30 to 7. By 7pm GONE...which I'm pleased about.

Those that have read my previous posts on here & elsewhere on MSE know that my partner has had some mental health issues but she's nearly 100% better now...back at work & if anything more confident than before!

So........rather than not be able to drive 2morrow am etc....I'm taking her out somewhere nice rahter than sitting around in a hungover fog!

Not sure on Octobers target yet but would like the next 14 days AF!

Hope all are ok....will re-read last few weeks of posts tomorrow when I have some time!

  • Hi Everyone,

Jo, you can do it, you seemed so down this morning, but I am glad you seem more positive this evening, like the others have said, do it for your children, small baby steps.:D

Another AFD for me YM, I am on day 12 now and 11/100 of my challenge. My face already looks so different, that could be down to the large volume of fizzy water I am drinking, perhaps my youth will reappear:eek: I also have much more energy, had a good walk at the park with my daughter today. Bells are completely silent now.:D

Without this thread, I doubt I would even have thought of doing a 100 day challenge, so thank you all for your encouragement, priceless:T:T:T:T:T:T

OOOOOHHHH, fluffy baby floggers - naughty but nice, tee hee   :p

One more AFD for me please YM, so that makes 20/27.

Not a terribly interesting day to be honest. Voluntary work was good this morning, but rest of day, pretty bland. Watched far too much telly and been a proper couch potato for the last 6 hours - oops.

I had a fight earlier with the drinking demon who lives on my shoulder. He's tiny, but he doesn't half pack a punch! Jeysus he's persistent, he never quits. "It's always a good time for drinking," says he, over and over again. Anyway, I've managed to get him off to sleep for tonight, so that's an achievement :T

Going to bed shortly. All this doing nothing has wiped me out :rotfl:

Well done IM, a fantastic achievement already! So glad you are feeling and seeing the benefits. Have you been putting the money you would've been spending on drink into a pot or something for crimbo? Maybe I should do the same, will have a grand total of £445.00 if I put a fiver away every day from today up until xmas eve   flipin ell!!

  • Hi Jo,

Yes, I move it from my main account every day into a savings account, which was empty when I started, I used to spend about £4 a day, but in reality I'm saving much more, as whenever I went to the shop I always had an excuse for going, were out of butter, bread, nibbles whatever, when really we did'nt need them, so I would often spend much more.

But I am just putting £4 a day away, still it is mounting up, and my bank account is looking much more postive for not shopping daily:T I am now having my shopping delivered, which I find much easier than entering the shops and being tempted. It only costs £3.50 and I would spend more than that on things I did'nt need if I went myself. So on the whole everything is looking up. :j:j:j

I now I can do this, and its all down to you guys, a big thank you:T:T

  • Hi IM.....well done you !! I`m saving £4 a day too. Its enough to add up quickly but not so much that I miss it too much. Been saving since end August...really pleased & it has made a difference & kept me going on my AF quest on a couple of tougher days.

Strangely less visits to the supermarket too.

    26 days here now ... I actually stopped from 29/8 so that`s nearly a month already!!:j

    Have a good Sunday all..

    Angiexx
