Well I fail on all three of those
 Oh well, at least you are honest!! :rotfl:
Hugs all round today. IM had it so right - it is like feeling compelled to watch someone from the door until they have disappeared, and then you get on with your life... very reflective time. Ten years ago I spent NYE sitting in a local village boozer with my boyfriend of three years and his mates, watching them play pool and hogging the jukebox, then getting the once a year (slightly too long) kiss from his mate at midnight. One marriage and countless changes of address later, and single, but happier with this life because of the possibilities.
I have decided to go out tonight - I do not have to have a crazy one and I think it would be worse to stay in alone and reflect on things. I should be with my friends to see in the new year - we have supported each other in the last few months and hope it continues. Anyway if it all goes wrong, it will be more of an incentive to keep AF in January and beyond.
RA- I think about going to AA but I am depressed and worry that hearing other people's stories will make me feel worse because they have been through a lot more than me and I am just being pathetic, I don't know. I might feel like a fraud.
Miss Piggy - shame you have a lot of difficult stuff to deal with. The previous posters are right, you were an innocent party who got hurt. The protagonists would be very upset that you have been so badly affected but unfortunately people's actions have a far-reaching effect and no more so than when it involves a marriage and mutual friends. Without going too much into it, I have behaved selfishly before and only later did it hit me (hard) how I must have hurt people with my behaviour which was done in the pursuit of my own happiness. If you can be a friend to these people despite it all, they will appreciate it.
To all those suffering sleep problems etc - a quick fix is the garnier caffeine eye roll on!! It certainly makes your eyes feel better if nothing else!!I'm lucky because I saved my sleeping meds until I really needed them so I have slept OK the last few nights.
Hope everyone has the NYE that they want to have, abstinent or not, and a fresh start all round tomorrow.

So still only 5 this month. 37% AF for the year. Not terrible but it could be improved and hopefully 2010 will see that result!
Thanks for all the people that have kept score for us this year.:A (I should take my turn one month but I am a little flaky so I'm not sure it would work out. I have a day off today and I just ran myself a bath and just discovered I had put on the cold tap not the hot tap. Lots of frothy, ice cold bubbles. Dizzy!:rotfl:)
I am determined that 2010 will be a good year for me!:T
I hope everyone has a wonderful time tonight however they are spending it.:AHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

I won't be going out tonight. I hate New Years Eve and in fact any 'engineered' reasons to 'have fun'. Tomorrow me and DS will wake up, get in the car and head to the beach and have a walk along the sand. Money far better spent on the petrol than the booze in my opinion.
I have faltered between AFness and !!!!head during 2009 and bar my christmas day blip have been Af for over 2 months.
I wholeheartedly agree with having to change yourself. If you have always 'dealt' with the carp in life by drinking a bottle of wine then when you stop one whole lot of carp comes crashing down!!
Having to look long and hard at my life and the people in it has been one of the hardest things. Three separate families I know have been repossessed this year and I know without fail they will all be out on the !!!! tonight. What kind of lesson does that teach their kids. Mum and Dad's drinking was more important than keeping a roof over your heads. It's that kind of realisation that is tough, because not only do you have to change your own life but people in your 'past' life appear far less appealing.
So Bring On 2010 and in the words of the great 'TheThe' If you can't change yourself change your world, and if you can't change your world change yourself'
If you see a reflective looking woman, little boy and dog walking the sands tomorrow it may well be me.
