  • Oh HB, that made me want to cry.

Yes, they are both very good friends...but so was the wife involved and I sort of lost contact with her because I believed what I was being told. Now I feel really awful... what sort of friend am I???

I know its their lives (and trust me, it DOES make me appreciate my OH!) but I just feel really stupid. Everyone knew but me.

BUT...like you say, its THIER lives. I have a very good life myself...a lovely OH and of course, gorgeous Piglet (who is becoming strangely obsessed with Winnie the Poh and Piglet...cue Twilight Zone music!!). New Years Resolution....to focus on MY family,

    Thank you HB

You're a trusting & nice friend! Why on earth wouldn't you believe what you're being told? We tend to believe that our friends our honest with us otherwise we wouldn't be friends.

That makes you a good person & them a bit shabby, even if they do have what they think are reasons.

I'm not being all holier than thou, I've done poor things (diplomatically put to avoid censorship) in my past. However I was also once deceived & cheated on royally - the humiliation & shame of others knowing burns a little even now, years after the event & certainly long long past any heartbreak. So I really know about the everyone knows but me syndrome. It sucks but at least you can also say you never knew & be there as friend for anyone who may need you.

I hope this makes sense, it's starting to feel a bit like gibberish to me :o

so perhaps I should go out and be with people who care about me and will cheer me up.

This may be totally off the wall, but why not go to an AA meeting.
