I'm a regular, but don't want this to appear on internet searches etc, so I'm using a new account. Prob not the best time of year, but I need to really cut back the booze. How to I get my oh to cut back as well? I was on antibiotics recently and stopped drinking for 6 days (longest in years), but despite encouragement he didn't.

It's hard. It's been years, its a way of life now. I feel I'm losing so much and sliding along, it's gotta stop.

Watched certain members of the family get quickly smashed last night ! Oh dear - gonna be a long day for them today !

I had a few but didn't sleep well, too much going round in my head. Too much to do....am going stone cold sober from Wednesday 30th.

I had 2 shandys last night which is the least I have drunk on Christmas Eve for years.

i hope you don't mind me popping on here and saying hi! i rarely drink and don't have issues with alcohol but alcoholism has touched my family deeply and it hurts very much when i see someone at the mercy of drink. thankfully my father hasn't drunk in 5 years and my brother 10 months. i had a very unhappy marriage to a man who put drink over his family.

Christmas at my parents will be an alcohol free day and i am very happy about that.

enough of that, i just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas! today may be a difficult day testing your willpower but i'm sure you can do it!
