    Well done YM :T

Whilst you're about and 'working' hard, pray tell me, how do you cook a lump of beef?

God I'm exhausted, just spent the last hour trying to break up rows between the 2 little'uns as we've been playing the Ninja Turtle board game and nobody (including me :o) could understand the rules. DS has now persuaded me to let him play the Xbox, me and DD2 are going to wrap some pressies, DD1's at work and OH is in the pub

  • All I do is put it in oven on high for 30 mins and then turn down and cook slow for as long as it takes and it looks done.

Not very scientific or impressive as I dont add anything during cooking as additives are put on the dinner table ie Horse radish, Tomato Ketchup and Mustard.

Hope it turns out OK for you

Okay, this is fine but, considering I also have a turkey cooking and it has to be ready at the same time, how can I guarantee that it'll be ready? It says 132 minutes on the label, but that's obviously on a Gas Mark 4 or whatever the whole way through.

    How low is low?

  • about gas mark 2

I generally only cook the one joint at a time and have never cooked a Xmas dinner

    Not much help I know.:o
  • I walked past a pub at noon and a guy was outside on his mobile boasting to his mates about how many double this and double that he had already drunk.

Reminded me of my drinking days when lunch time on Xmas Eve was the start of a seven day binge.

You are a marvalous (sp?) help YM :D So, in your humble opinion, you reckon I should dump the turkey round my mums to cook and concentrate on just doing the beef?

Just spoke to my OH, he got in the pub about an hour ago I suppose, maybe longer, I asked him what time was he planning to get home. He said, oh I dunno, 4, 5, 6, 7, but no later than 8pm
