GG - I am calling in 26 days for Nov (including today) thanks for scoring and give yourself a nice pat on the back!!

Morning chaps - slept terribly - thinking about work (all night)

    But AF - :)

Good post GC - with alcohol I am a deranged maniac (well more than normal :)) and it shapes the whole of my evening (ie how to manipulate getting some and then I selfishly go into me shutdown mode) and one drink always leads to many. But, without it I seem to lead a pretty decent life thinking of others and generally (aside being a bit grumpy) I am happier.

    Food for thought eh?

Same here. My life without booze was normal and happy, and yet when drinking or wanting to drink, I would be a selfish so and so.
I was responsible sober, yet a fool when drinking.
I never understood how my life was so normal, and then so different concerning alcohol.
So why did I drink? It seems irrational....

I now know it is because I am alcoholic, and that's what alcoholics do. They drink. They want to drink.
Life's not like that now - I don't crave alcohol, and rarely want to drink. Life's better without booze, and today I have no desire to drink. I hope you can find the same peace of mind too

Thanks for the words GC - you hit it on the head - with drink utterly selfish, without drink - responsible.

A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.

Four worms were placed into four separate jars.

The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.

The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.

The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.

The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.

At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol -
    Dead

The second worm in cigarette smoke - Dead

Third worm in chocolate syrup - Dead

Fourth worm in good clean soil - Alive

So the Minister asked the congregation - What did you learn from this demonstration???

Maxine was sitting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said,

'As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won't have worms!'

That pretty much ended the service.

morning all. hope everyone survived the wet and windy weekend! Still chucking it down here. Luckily nice and warm in office today. GG that's 29 days for me please! Was slightly tempted to join husband when he opened a bottle of white wine on Saturday but then thought... first glass might taste alright but half a bottle wouldnt be enough for me, and there's no other wine in the house and so I'd end up feeling rubbish and would wake up feeling fed up with myself too (this conversation in my head lasted about 0.5 second!) so got my ginger cordial out instead. Perfect.
Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

    Good morning.
I haven't had time to catch up on the weekend's posting but I hope everyone had a good time.
I only drank on Saturday evening and only a couple of glasses with my meal so very moderate - I can't quite beleive it as I was with good friends and having a great time and usually that would be a good reason to 'neck it'.

Anyway I won't be drinking today either. Have a good day.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Although I'm not Scottish I'll be dancing later! And I'll be AF too.

I had thought of having no target for December because of Christmas and New Year and a short holiday next week, so just clocking up AF days as they come. Then I decided that I'd hate myself if I fell below 10 for the month so put me down for 10 for December please Marru.

And a very big thank you to GG for excellent scoring in November :T:T:T

  • Afternoon all

Shattered here today. Piglet very unsettled yesterday after his accident at the play area. It took me till nearly quarter to ten last night to get him to go to sleep. And prior to that he was really grumpy. I got him to sleep and then went to bed myself. At least that stopped me giving in to those wine bells!

I feel very out of sorts today - very grumpy myself. Trying to be patient with Piglet but its hard when you feel a bit off. His thumbs still hurting him a bit so I do feel sorry for him

Hopefully be AF tonight...will ignore those bells when they start clanging.

    Miss P
    xx

You're driving so its OK not to drink or to bring in AF beer - they probably won't notice anyway.
