  • Mari I hope you are OK - waves hello to everyone - my fire is on :)

Work to do to keep me focussed on the road ahead tonight. I think whilst I don't want to watch that documentary I think I will - :)

Thanks for mentioning it Marru :)

Waves hello to the rest of the folks about tonight.

Its a great thread, inclusive, supportive and thought provoking at times.

I'd never even of thought of having an AFD before reading this thread, never mind achieving on - nor would I have reduced my consumption - so hugs and thanks to you all. xx

No, it's not! It's you sitting down in a field! :p :rotfl:

Thank you for those words though, sweetie - need to remember that how I deal with alcohol is down to me & it's me that's dealing with it :)

That's me at WORK in my own little forest, on my own stripey road having a peedie rest.

Glad you are oK - and you're right we have to deal with ourselves on our own, but with a little help from our chums..................

    Me too, so, so glad!!

    11 please GG!

There have been some heartfelt messages on here today, brought a tear to my eye actually because I identified with all of them. I'm so busy at the moment, i couldn't possibly have any wine, too much to do. I certainly associate it with relaxing and completely switching off - I too have the control freak personality, and it really does help me to completely let go.

Must go, I'm making lots of little cupcakes tonight for DD1's 18th tomorrow, then I'll make a big cake for the family 'do' on Sunday. I would love to have some sparkly wine tomorrow, but one leads to another, and I've got work on Friday, so that'll make sure I stay AF.

    bi for now

You are all such good friends, even if you are 'virtual' - I do think about you during the day and imagine what you look like!!!

  • Evening,

Really interesting reading today - so many honest and thought-provoking posts. I'll echo what others have said and just say I'm so grateful to have found this thread.

Before stumbling across this, I knew I had a problem (drinking til sick, blackouts, phoning in sick to work cos of hangovers etc) but had just never faced it full on. Knowing that you're not alone makes an incredible difference. Plus hearing other people talk about how much better life is 'on the other side' - it just makes it seem so much more worth fighting for and achievable.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now...tonight's wee update...

I'd be a bit worried if I were Jo - she's gone from a giraffe to a hoover to a rabbit in the space of a few weeks! :rotfl:
