  • Evening all,

Hope everyone’s got lovely things planned for the weekend, even if that loveliness is just vegging out and not doing much of anything at all.

Fay – sorry to hear about your mulligan last night. I’ve done the same thing many times too. Now trying not to deal with negative emotions/experiences with people by downing a skinful in my usual way as ultimately that’s just self-destructive and has no impact whatsoever on the other person! Easier said than done though...what a journey...

Fedupsparkly – where are you? Hope you’re ok.

Budgie – please report in with your X Factor thoughts tomorrow, what weird voting off we’ve seen this time round.

Scores on the doors tonight folks...

HB, we sober ones can stay awake so much longer than you (insert sticky out tongue smiley!) X

    Evening stripey fay x

I had a liver function test back in may which said my liver was functioning normally and with the correct score on the result. But he had also tested my GGT levels which is to check the amount of enzymes in my liver which came back frightenly high and means I have a fatty liver which is the beginnings of hepititus which could at any stage move into cirrhosis. This is extra worrying as I had been having liver function tests for years and thinking all was well as they came back normal. It was only when I had a visiting locum doc on and he asked my history and insisted on the enzyme test that I realised that my body was damaged due to alcohol abuse. Can I also add that I only stopped drinking for 21 days after the results came back until I started again, even heavier drinking too. Even that result didnt stop me. Not until 4 weeks ago when I started getting pains in my liver area did it start to feel real.

Anyone that wants a blood test, ask for 2 GGT to check for enzymes as well (dont confuse with GTT the glucose tolerance test!)

Apologies for any mistakes in this message Ive just text it into my phone!

Well I made it :jone family meal AF me drinking fizzy elderflower which is delicious!! Think family are now in a state of shock...this has never happened before (or if it has noone can remember:eek:) So home now, with a nice relaxing cup of camomille tea, ready for my bed.

HB, Jo & 69chick thanks for wishing me luck, its so good to know there are folks supporting you.

So GG that makes 5 AF days for me!!!

Fay, glad to hear today is better for you, just remember we can't go back, so we can only work on learning from the past and applying it to the present. Take care and big hugs hun.

Jo you are fantastic...late night shopping for ice cream...thats what we want to hear, enjoy :D

Everyone else hope you are ok and enjoying Friday night,

    Mari xx
  • Evening everybody :j

6 for me please Glasgow Girl, Sweetie, thanks!
No problems with the bells this week until tonight, but shut them up with a few mini crunchie bars. Now my problem with the cravings and wine bells is always Saturday night, 6:30 onwards. I'm really going to try my best to ignore them - as Jo says, it's thinking about going without which is the worst bit. Then waking up the next day without hangover and bad feelings is wonderful. :j

Welcome to all the new people and returners. I'm a 59-er, so I had a big birthday this year too! Me and Winebox are young-looking and acting 59-ers!! :j

Hope you are all where you want to be this evening

    Night night xxxx

    Hello,

Statistics for tonight (after Mari's and PIR's updates)
    Pledged: 613, had 86, 14% in 20% of time

I am sure I still make silly typos but the funniest was few years back when now ex asked me to put some beer on the shopping list - and what did I put? Bear! Oh dear he couldn't understand what he was supposed to buy :rotfl:

Just had a skype chat with BF - I don't want to live this far from him so need to find job closer but on the other hand things are going really well in my present job. Oh dear...

I read a truly worrying thing the other day - you can get vodka with milk thistle in it

    Why?

You think that is worrying. Flicked over to Autumn watch earlier only to see a male Salmon being relieved of his milk

What sort of TV is that. Could not put my after shave lotion on ;)

    4 for me please GG

Working ATM and then should have a nice peacefull day tomorrow as OH is taking DD's to the O2 to see "Disney on ice...Princess wishes". They should enjoy that as they think they are only going shopping to our local city ( Canterbury ) and having a girly day with their mum and Gran.

Not my cup of tea so may watch soccer saturday instead ;)

Hope you are having sweet dreams

    Nighty, night

    :AHi everyone.

Anyone trying to stop drinking only has to give up one drink, that is the first one,and onlyfor one day at a time,it is that simple!

I spent years analyzing my drinking and trying to cut down/stop.It was only when I accepted it was the first drink that was the problem and just did it a day at a time that I was able to stop.It has worked for me up until today.

I will think about tomorrow when I wake up.

    Night all sleep tite.
