Indeed Lurkioioio dinnae be daft
Fay, Did you see Jonathan Ross last night? I was thinking of you and the Scottish contingent on here. He was asking his guests to read wine bottle labels (that, funnily enough wasn't the bit that made me think of you, in fact I've only just realised that bit now ), and they had to do it in accents. Dara O'Briain did it in a scottish accent, me being from London thought it sounded superb!!
From a truely Scottish wiman I can also agree Dara did a pretty gaid joab.

Hi Everyone,
Just jumped on rather late, after Trick or Treating with DD and watching XFactor and most haunted. Spent all day de cluttering and cleaning today, and my backs suffering now.
A big thank you to fay for scoring this month, you've done a great job, thank you. My final score for October is 31/31 and 46/100 of my challenge. Wow I'm nearly half way there.
Dont really think about it much now, and go shopping and walk past all the bottles, and dont notice them.
My weight loss is continuing and definately noticing the extra money in my pocket.
GG could you please put me down for 30 days for November? Thank you.

Morning all, nursing a hangover but was always expecting to be rough today after a big party last night. Feeling optimistic about a new shiny month. And in reflective mode, hence the long post. My head hurts.
PIR Hugs and hope you feel a bit less despondent today. I find that once there is less alcohol in my body my mood can get a bit more positive. Remember they love you and nobody is perfect, we've all done things we're ashamed of. Maybe think about the next family celebration and making it special for them to make amends?TIME2GROWUP wrote: »I'm hopped on at the moment.. got the most amazing hangover ever..... having very sad times
Fay, I loved that punch - looks fantastic!! Thank you so much for scoring this month, and to GG for taking the cat herding on in November.
Lurky, thanks, you made me giggle. Please keep posting!
Maman, thanks for making me laugh, wish I'd thought of blaming the off chocolate and toast for me feeling so ill on Thursday! :rotfl:Winebox, happy to be a source of laughter, feel free to laugh at me anytime!
Welcome back Mari, I think it's great we can fall off the thread and be welcomed back with open arms.
The posts about decreased tolerance and overdoing it on drinking days definitely cried out to me. I'm also going to try hard in November to go easy when I'm not AF and stay sober enough to count the units. I had a hangover on Halloween from sharing two bottles of wine on Friday but used to drink at that level every night and not feel it the next day.
Another thing I was thinking about last week. We were talking at work about people with hardcore drug and alcohol problems (homeless kind of level) and someone said about smelling booze on them. Thing is, I don't think I've smelt booze on people in an office before, curry if people have eaten it the night before. I am allergic to the stuff so very aware of it on others. Then the nasty thought hit me about all those evenings drinking a bottle of wine (and the rest, who am I kidding) I never thought about people being able to smell it on me the next day after showering, clean clothes (not the wine or dinner spilled ones that is) and cleaning my teeth (and perhaps some mints on a bad day). But I know if I go on a tube late at night and I'm sober I can certainly smell the drink on other people. Given how common it is for people to drink too much I must have worked with some heavy drinkers. Am I just be insensitive to it because of my own drinking levels? I don't recall people smelling of booze even when I didn't drink. Maybe my sense of smell just isn't as good as some people.

Good morning all :hello:
Yippee no hangover on a Sunday morning. :AIt is foul weather here, heavy rain and grey sky, it's been raining for hours.
40SM Thanks for your kind words, and it would be really great if we could be 30-day AF buddies for November. I've never been as determined as I am this time - I've never dared set myself such a high target before either. I hope your Mum is OK now - my Mum had a serious operation the week before last, and she'll be needing further intervention, so October was a pretty bad month for me too. But at least my parents live fairly near, it must be so difficult for you with yours being hundreds of miles away.
WBF Thanks for your advice - DD2 is 16 on 10 November and DD1 is 18 on 12 November, so lots of family celebrations coming up for me to be nice and shiny sober at! Also got the tennis club 'do' on 21 November, so I'll drive to that. Regarding smelling of alcohol in the morning, I'm ashamed to say that know I have done in the (distant) past, but I hope I haven't done within the past 10 years or so.
Jo: Glad you enjoyed the film!!! DD1 loves the Saw films! You wouldn't catch me watching them, too gory! BTW, we both have children with birthdays in the same week. Very expensive month, then Christmas the next month.
Right, must do lots of ironing before I go to the spinning class at the gym.
Have a great day everybody.

Well I have well and truly fell of the wagon this weekend. I have consumed about 14 units over the last 2 evenings:rolleyes: Worse - this brings my unit total for the last 7 days to 20:eek:
Must try harder. A new month so a new start.
Good LuckWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Good morning!!
It is pouring here as well. I was so disappointed as it is DD's birthday. (Fay, she was due on 31st but I didn't quite make it.) Anyway I made amends with ex for long enough for him to wish her happy birthday over the phone. We have pony ride lined up for later today (courtesy of BF's lovely relatives) and then at tea time cake and candles (yes and pressies as well). I hope she is not too much disappointed for not getting a party with her friends this year.
Here is for shiny new month and going for full Monty!!! :j"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
