Havn't posted on here for ages, but have been lurking reading the thread. So good to see so many people taking part in the challenges and dealing with their drinking, it's so insperational.:A
Anyway I'd really like to join in for the November challenge, can you please put me down for 25 AF days GG. I have been much better of late but need something to help me focus and this is certainly the place...:D
Have a lovely Saturday afternoon

When I had a reduction detox (or 'community detox' so they called it
) last year, I 'had' to have exactly the same amount of units per day, or rather cans as I was drinking stella. Started on 5 cans per night then each week dropped one. Had to drink the set amount even if I didn't want it. Which strangely, as I was being told to drink it all the appeal had gone (that's the rebel in me
). Getting down to two then one was the hardest cos I had quite a decision, ie, did I drink it straight away then have nothing all evening, did I save it till later but think about it all evening, or did I try and space it out all night till it went cold
this was when I realised I had a serious drinking problem, every thought was about drinking
But doing it this way meant that your body gets used to a smaller amount of alcohol in a controlled way, you are not stopping completely and risking dangerous withdrawals, plus 'they say' by reducing gradually, your body is getting used to 'surviving' on less and so the cravings should be less when you eventually stop....dunno bout that bit
That is interesting thanks.

Thanks for all your messages of support - really appreciated!
JO: Your bunny is really cute. Be careful about urban foxes though. We had a gorgeous bunny called Miffy, belonged to DD2, but we all really loved her. I rabbit-proofed the garden so she could run around and be free all day, then we put her in her hutch at night. But on cup-final night in 2008 (Man U vs Chelsea, Man U won), DD2 went out to put her away and she had been killed by a fox - DD2 was heartbroken, had to have the next day off school. We were all really upset, still feel sad when we think about her. Then a few months ago, the blooming fox killed next door's 2 bunnies when they were actually securely in their hutch!
