I'm putting £20 a week I save on booze in a tin for a holiday fund, I've told the kids and they are thrilled, this keeps the pressure on me as they say Dad have you put 20 quid in the holiday tin. It's hard but rewarding. Tip! I buy non alcoholic ginger beer I find the strong tasting natural ones remind me of alcohol and i poor it out in small galsses, works for me.

Will pop along to the 'reduction clinic' on wednesday as its just a drop in thing. They have a support group on Thursday morning which I might stick my head in for a try. There is a waiting list for 1 : 1 support, but have to say I am getting more from the reduction clinic than I did last time for 1:1

    Hi Bertty,

    Welcome to the thread :)

Excellent idea of putting £20 in a tin, plus having the extra incentive of telling the kids what you've done is a great idea! Have you stopped drinking completely or are you a cutter downer?

I would do, but my dear ole dad was called Henry and with all the hoovering I've done this week I think he'd be proud of me......so will HB (don't tell her I've done it though, wouldn't want her thinking she's got some influence on me ;))
