No Su, it's This Charming Man.

Rachel's Holiday is good too :D

I know a lot of people are reading This Charming Man at the moment on here, but if you're not, do! It's a bit hard going I think at the beginning but comes together about half way through, it's an eye opener if you think you might have a problem with drink.

I was regularly drinking 5-6 cans of Stella a night for years and driving to work

Keep an eye on the goal Andy, we will all get there, very soon :) xx

You 'were' drinking that much - at the moment you're not - how cool is that?:j:j:j:j:jwell done on even thinking like that. I like to hear myself say 'I use to drink a bottle of wine everyday' - it's USE to - not anymore (only very occasionally anyway)

    Hoping we all get there!
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Thanks Jo .... I need a slap round the face with a wet kipper at the moment to give me some enthusiasm for giving up :o

Might have to go and see the GP again, will see what they say later.

    xx

If the desire isn't there I wouldn't bother to try. Making a half-hearted attempt normally ends in failure (not just giving up booze but in everything) so that can get demoralising. Give it a real proper honest go when you are ready. If your desire isn't there, it probably will not work

I am up for the Tipple free Thursday challenge also...am off to Scotland on Friday for 6 days to visit family...this will be very challenging to stay af as I normally drink daily when I am on my 'holidays' especially as I will be 24/7 with dh and the kids :D my sil doesn't drink that much though so might manage a couple of afd's

keep up all the funny chatter it really keeps me going...also a couple of you have mentioned books that you have found good, am thinking of getting 'living sober' would anyone who has read that say that it is good for someone who wants to be an occasional drinker?

    catch you all later x

btw good luck for today BHB..hope this is a turning point for you but it does sound like your frame of mind might not be quite ready yet...you will get there though just might be via some swings and roundabouts x

I think it is more suited to giving up entirely (which is what alcoholics have to do to recover), but it will still have some valuable insights for the occasional drinker

Not sure how to respond to that

Guess that's why I am a 'cutter downer' not a 'giver upper' at the moment
