Hi! Just discovered this thread
really glad to see other people doing what I want to! Decided on Friday to knock the drinking on the head...probably for all the reasons you've heard thru the pages:
money, weight loss, drinking more often due to stress/boredom, drinking waaaaay too much in a night out, forgetting huge parts of my nights out, doing stupid stupid things when drunk!!
So I had my last drink on the 1st - and I want to go AF til the 24th (when I meet up with an old friend & will most probably have a glass of wine or three).
Don't think I'll totally give up, but I do need to seriously cut down! I don't like my job right now so find myself having a drink or two to 'de-stress' after tea...Plus I have no idea where my limit is & generally go out for 'one' after work on a Friday & end up wasted & crawling home at 1am
I must waste easily £30-40 a week on booze
So this is it - I managed to stay in on Friday, and didn't touch the fridge full of cider & wine all weekend
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -

Give me a star.. give me a star.... its nearly 9pm, not had or having a drink today, unless you count the latte I had at 8pm..... :T Not making any promises for the rest of the week, but hope to achieve a few more before the weekend...

Okay so here's my first question...
Do you tell people that you are quitting/giving up? I'm really worried that people will be odd with me when I tell them I'm not drinking
I know I shouldn't care but you can't help it sometimes! My workmates are very alcohol/pub centered people unfortunately! Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
Right, me darlings, I have an early start & (hopefully) a busy & productive day tomorrow so I'm off to curl up with my book for a bit before bed. Best of luck with the AF'ness for the rest of tonight & for tomorrow if I don't get on

G'nite all
