    Lots more hugs, Marru :)

I have been there on a couple of occasions with depression & it's a horrible thing. I posted on your diary so won't repeat it here other than I hope you're ok. And truly alcohol isn't the way to deal with it, & I know you know that too

    big bearhugs

    Hello
I was just browsing the threads and I came across this one. I have only read the most recent few pages but your post caught my eye. I sometimes drink too much when I'm stressed and one of the big reasons for being stressed in my life is my beautiful 20 year old autistic son.

40SM and Mr + Mrs BHB I wish I could say it gets easier, it doesn't and you will never stop worrying about your sons. The problems will change over the years though; some difficulties will disappear to be replaced by other difficulties. You will cope though, I have met many families affected by Autism and what I can say is that we are a strong and resiliant bunch. You do need support though, if you haven't already, do contact the National Autistic Society to see whether there is a local branch.
Drinking to excess really isn't the answer (although in my case it's "do as I say rather than as I do" as I do drink far too much:o) you need all your strength to deal with your boys and you have to stay healthy because they will depend on you all your lives.
    Good Luck.

I see it is a group alcohol free day today so I would like if I may to join in and pledge not to drink (whatever the provokation!). Not sure how many alcohol free days I can manage this month but I can certainly abstain every Monday if that's how it works.

Thanks for your post Suweb5 and welcome to the madhouse ;)
We have made contact with Suffolk Autism - they were a great help

    Welcome other newbies.

I've got man flu - I think I am dying .....someone pass the tissues please - :D

  • I am totally and utterly disgusted with myself. Nuff said probably, but I will go on.

Had a night out on Saturday and don't remember getting home. Peed on my bedroom carpet. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!!!!!!!!! Honestly, I feel sick just thinking about the horrid mess I was in.

Has led to 2 AF days though :o

Sorry I haven't been around. It's too difficult to get on at work now and my home life has been chaotic. Plus I've been so down in the dumps it's unreal.

Marru~ticked plenty of those symptoms. In denial probably. Although I'm pretty sure that if I kicked this drink habit in the bottom, I'd be fine!

Much love X Missed you all X
    Need to start again :o
