Hi
I've been shopping for next week today. I'm well into batch cooking now after a week of meals all ready and planned. I had to go today because I'm working everyday for the next few weeks. Extra 2 days each week to pay for my Paris trip. CBM I agree with the planned takeaway being enjoyable whereas the one you have when you can't face cooking I always end up thinking a) how much its costing b) I could have made it tastier myself.
Thanks SA for the meal plan website I will have a look later. What are we to do about these kids? I seem to remember I was much the same when I was young but in those far off days we were paid weekly so if we blew it all at the weekend we only had a couple of days til we got the next lot. It was easier then.
Have a great weekend.

I used to get about £8 for my Saturday job, at BHS. Paid in cash for the first year, then they went onto paying in the bank and loads of the folk working there had to have help with opening a bank account as they didn't have one - [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] they had paid time to hear a presentation and go and talk to bank clerks who were brought in specially!
I think the website (lovefood) is brill, and the advertising campaign was good too - the pear crying (don't know if you saw it). We've really reduced the amount that goes in the brown bin - but that could be not having the kids here 'oh I don't want that' and not turning up for tea at all after I've cooked...

Being paid in cash weekly - those were the days! My first job paid £19 a week - it seemed like a small fortune to me then! Used to hot foot it straight to the nearby record shop. I dread to think how much I spent on records during my teens and very early 20s!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I bought junky ear rings and cassettes. But I did save some too, at least I think I did. I'm not sure that my kids ever saved money out of their earnings - they all want too much!

Hi
I haven't been on MSE for about a week I've lost the plot a bit. I have still been living in a MSE way but haven't kept any records like I usually do. I'm doing two jobs at the moment and when I do eventually get to sit down I usually fall asleep or can't be bothered to go on my laptop.
Must do better from now on!!
I'm actually at work now so must keep this post short.

At work again!!
Had a NSD yesterday, checked balances and finally updated spreadsheets not looking too bad but have agreed to pay for DD's haircut today - why am I so soft????
Still enjoying all the food I batch cooked and froze so just buying veg, fruit and dairy. It's not just the money saved but the time when I get home from work absolutely cream crackered. I have more time for my dog walk no so benefits all round.
It's absolutely pouring with rain so don't mind being stuck in cosy office on my own.
Have a good day everyone.

A cosy office on your own sounds a lovely place to be when the weather is so grey and horrible, second only to on the sofa under a blanket with a cat or good book of course :rotfl:. I thought I might try and go for a swim later but its just so hard to get motivated.
Glad the NSDs are still coming. Batch cooking is fab at the end of a long day isn't it. We've got veg crumble tonight, and spinach and chick pea curry tomorrow, both already made. No need to do loads of prep, healthy and no brain required - which suits me at the mo
What is your extra job that you're doing at the moment?
Cheers

I'm doing 5 weeks stand in for a friend who has gone on a long holiday and needed extra cover. Mainly book keeping it's not my normal work but it's quite enjoyable and I'm getting paid - best bit!!
I'm thinking about looking for other freelance jobs for 2 days a week after this one. I wouldn't want to work 5 days every week but the money is a great motivator.
It's stopped raining here but I shall be at my desk til about 5. I was going to leave a bit early but DD (half term from college) has a gang round so no peace at home - never mind they're going out about 7.
I've just eaten a bowl of cold pasta leftover from last night and it was actually yummy but very garlicy so will have to stay in office and not stray.

Had quite a good DFW day today. Went to the local car boot sale and only spent £3 on a DVD, a ball of wool and some doggy treats. Bought a few essentials in Mr T which after I've bought some veg in Aldi tomorrow should last us until the weekend.
DD & OH sorting out for ebay and amazon while I'm trying to decide whether to read my book which I've nearly finished, read the newspaper, do some knitting ot take the dog for a walk (it's raining!!).
I'm working in second job tomorrow so not such an early start so will go to Aldi as soon as it opens and ther's plenty of veg left.
Not much to report with the finances just keeping control over everything and paying what I can off CCs.Snowball DF Nov 2017Jan 2011 MBNA £2634.66 Feb £2608.37 Mar £2561.860
