NPM - I once went to a talk by an autistic lady called Roz Blackburn and it was fascinating to hear her perspective on life, not sure if she's written any books but she is well known so I understand in this field.

Taplady - whenever I see the word 'weeding' it always reminds me of a telegram me and my (ex-!!!) husband received which said 'Many congratulations on your weeding day'

Ooh, lucky thing - we went to see them at Bolton in 2005. They were absolutely fab, great performance with lots of singing along!0 -
Afternoon all
Back from my trip into town, picked up some bargains too so very pleased and also called in Morrisons and got quite alot of YS turkey steaks (various flavours) which I really like so pleased with those too. All safely in freezer. I have a butternut squash and red pepper soup bubbling away at moment, I have not tried this before (WW recipe) but have to say not liking the smell very much so far, hope it tastes better than it smells! Jacket pots just going in oven, curry defrosted and ready to reheat as necessary so I'm just about ready for the hairdresser coming.
Just enough time left for a browse on here and a coffee.

Edited to say - tastes much better than it smells - no points too - oooh I am being good (for now)!!!!!"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D

Gawd, my attic is a mess! It's going to take me weeks to get it sorted!
However on a positive note I've found several things for the Scouts and even more things that are screaming "Ebay" at me. The kids had a LOT of Playmobil and it's worth selling some of it I think. DD really only plays with the dolls houses now.
And I found a pile of craft things. I did go up earlier to look for curtain tape...no joy so I went and bought some more. Guess what I found just now? Yup....oh well, I'm sure it will come in useful one day. But that was £3.90 down the drain on tape I didn't need, bah.
Made the potato and cauliflower bake, also some roasted vegetables to use up the odds & sods in the bottom of the fridge. Will have some with the pork tonight and turn the rest into a pasta sauce tomorrow.Val.0 -

Hi Guys!
Back from the hospital and have to go back on Tuesday and Wednesday for more treatment:rolleyes:....difficult getting a vein today, but we got there in the end. I am totally knackered but glad today is over and done with.
3 loads of washing done today and the lovely cleaner offered to do the ironing for me and drop off over the weekend. I know its extra money but OH hasnt been too well and has been busy making plans for our future.
DD is upstairs doing homework and OH is cleaning the inside of the car. We have snot trails where the dog has been pressed up against the window:eek::eek::eek:
We popped into an morrocan little supermarket on the way home and picked up a big pot of houmous, milk, 3 packets of speciality biscuits and some honey with comb for under £5:D..great value!....they had chickens in there fresh for £2.49 and the different kind of olives were amazing and excellent value.
Easy dinner tonight, so better go put the oven on.
Does anyone know of anywhere online that sell support gloves for wrist and hands/fingers? I normally get them from the US but as the dollar isnt great, I'm looking for a cheaper source.
Hope everyone is well.

Thought I'd better drop in and say hello
- Not a lot OS happeneing here today though. I did do one load of washing which is on the line, it's been out there several hours and not dry yet  but I'm determined not to use the TD as it isn't actually raining.
Diva - ((((HUGS)))) to you hon, and some extra-gentle ones for Tris. Sorry his meds aren't suiting him - maybe he will adjust to them?
Haribo Junkie - Your new neighbours sound...ummm... interesting.....:rotfl:
NPM - Sorry you're not well, hope you feel better very soon (((HUGS))). At least DS is at school during the day so you can have a break. I remember reading a book years ago about an autistic girl named Ann - it was written by her mother. I remember they did things such as, Ann was afraid of anything red, so they made her get used to it by dressing her in red, giving her red toys, etc. (This was in the sixties btw, and it seems there wasn't much support available - I hope it's a bit better now!) She was afraid of buses, so they kept taking her to the roadside to see buses, and eventually she was able to ride in one with no problem. One thing that puzzled them was that she would sit in her room and laugh and laugh at the wall, for no apparent reason. There was a frieze of teddy bears on her bedroom wall, and when she got older her autism improved and she was able to explain that the teddy bears had appeared to be dancing, and she'd laughed and laughed because they looked so funny.
valk_scot - How annoying about the curtain tape, typical, isn't it!
nic1lou2 - Hope the soup turns out ok! It sounds an odd combination, but roasted butternut squash and peppers taste fine together so fingers x'd
Penny_Pincher -Hope the hospital wasn't as bad today and that OH's foot is starting to feel better x
rnshon - At 8 days overdue, I'd say chocolate crispie cakes definitely count as cooking! Hope baby puts in an appearance asap!
I know someone had a new DGD but can't remember who it was:o Congratulations anyway, love the name!
Candygirl - how nice to see you! Love your avatar, she's gorgeous.
I was going to make stirfry y'day but just didn't fancy it, so we had HM mushroom goulash from the freezer instead. Today I'm going to roast the peppers with some onions and diced spuds, and we'll have them with some sausages I found in the freezer the other day - they have been in there several weeks, so we'd better eat them in the hope they still taste of something0 -

Evening all, Only just managed to get on today.
Hugs to everyone who needs them.
I went into town to do a market research and pick up a few bits and bobs, managed to get a pair of boots for £10 so thought that was a bargain.
Have come in from school run and done my flying, I put a wash out this morning thats been blown dry and now I have another one on the go ready for the airer tonight.
Thas about all OS today. I need to make some bite size snacks for DD as she is in abowling tournament and there are no breaks through 8 games so she needs a few energy making stuff in you mouth snacks. Any ideas? So far I have mini muffins and mini crispie cakes but need some savoury things.
Take care
