So, hopefully I will get the £100 too, many thanks to MoneySavingSapphire :T

Lol, glad I can be helpful without actually doing anything...! :j I'm going to ring up today & apply, sounds like a plan!

ETA - just rung to apply, and the very friendly woman has put St Andrews as my branch so I get the £100 - very helpful and I'm going to switch my salary I think as I only went with First Direct to get their £50, lol! Plus I do like the scottish accent...

Well I definitely have my £100 now and rbs are showing no signs of switching me at all?! Woman I spke with told me I should do it!! Great if I was only switching for the hundred pounds but I'm wanting to switch to get the CC and don't fancy doing the DDs myself!

Has this been confirmed to be feasible for a dormant account?
  • I have a question, how can I pay cheques in to my bank account if I switch to RBS and live in England?

It might be an obvious question, but I don't know the answer.

Secondly, I will soon have to work p-t due to my health so am unsure what my new salary will be (it's not been sorted/agreed yet). Is there a minimum amount you have to pay in every month? In the application form it asks for salary, which I can put down, but this will be a lot less soon.

    Thanks.

    Precious Thing.

Is there a local RBS branch you could use? They're not just in Scotland you know - I've phoned up this evening and registered with a branch in Glasgow, but I have every intention of only ever using my local Cardiff RBS branch.

These days which actual branch of a bank you are actually based at isn't really an issue - my student account was based in South Wales for the 3 years I was studying in the north of England for example - and this made absolutely no difference to me whatsoever.

Good luck and enjoy your (hopefully soon to be claimed) £100!

Not sure exactly, but you don't absolutely have to pay a salary in - I explained the account I wanted to swap from was crediting with a £100 standing order a week and the guy seemed to be ok with that.

    Well i don't have my £100!!
Having bene told twice on the phone that I'd been credited I logged onto internet banking for the first time (only just got the codes) to find I don't!!
They confused my £100 credit with my £100 overdraft!
Another moan - they take SO long to send all the account stuff!!

The guy I spoke to on the phone while setting up my account said the £100 would be credited 28 days after I'd been using the account - have you had it that long yet adm?

Well my use is somewhat restricted - I only got the last of the internet codes yesterday, I have a creque book and card but no pin. I would not have expected the £100 by now except that they told me I already had it...
I've heard nothing back about switching.

    hiya,

I have a BOS and alliance & leicester current accounts.
I need them both because of the decent savings accounts they have attached to them.

I have previously grabbed the £100 from barclays..However, I have closed that account.

Hmm, would there be a way to grab the RBS £100 without closing any of my other 2 current accounts?

    cheers,

    yogi
