  • Hiya mighty mondo, I'm having love heart sweet favours too. I'm filling little glass jars with them and also using them as the name places too. I saw a brilliant love heart cake too that i thought i might have but haven't fully decided on a cake yet. I might decorate an M&S cake or even make my own i just need to practice icing a bit more though.
  • Hey Gingerbeer

going to meet the cake making lady on Sunday, i know she is fab at cakes so dont think it will be too much of a problem for her

    so far we have:
    booked reception
    booked venue
    contacted registrar
    booked cars
    booked cake
a friend is doing our photography.

the rest im saving for early next year, give myself a break over christmas!
    ive now also;
got my dress(borrowing my sisters veil)
reserved bridesmaid dresses to be picked up this week
    got my favours
got my cards etc for invites
got all the stuff i need for an attempt at a button bouquet
ive also shopped around for kilt hire(supposed to be H2Bs job, but i just want him to get the best deal)

i still need to hand our notices in at the registrars, i know that should have been one of the first things done but a relative is one of the the local registrars and she has already told us she is keeping that day clear to marry us

Hey everyone... I'm a July bride too- not long now!

Got loads to do but we have a venue, a caterer and a registrar so I we've got the essentials!
  • Are there any July Brides out there

Cant find a topic in first 10 pages of the thread and being a July bride myself thought it would be nice to speak to others and see how well they are doing etc

Women marry men hoping they will change, men marry women hoping they won't! Inevitably they will both be disappointed.

Ordered my dress yesterday! Was going to go with Landy or Milly but to placate my mum we went to a proper wedding dress shop and found what was apparently a bridesmaid dress in ivory (although it was with the bride's dresses and i picked it out without knowing) which i really liked and when I looked at the price it was only £200! My mum couldn't believe how cheap it was compared to the others. Plus the fact that it's technically a bridesmaid and not a bride's dress means it will have a shorter lead time and will be ready in time for a proper fitting etc.

So that was a bit of luck! We went to look at suit hire and were told we were too early... who has already done this?!

the only two things my H2B have got to do are sorting the kilt hire and organising the mini-moon.
as far as the mini moon is concerned, hes keeping it all quiet and a surprise. kilt hire wise he has been saying for the past 2 months that he will do it in a couple of weeks!
my friends who is getting married 3 weeks b4 me has already booked her kilt hire so i wouldnt imagine it would be too early
