Is there a thread already for trying for baby 4 ?
I have 3 children already and although were not trying trying. if it happened we'd be over the moon if that makes sence.
Many i've spoken to think it a crazy idea to want more( hubby and i have said we want a big family). then you get the jealous peeps who just say nasty things.
so we not gonna tell anyone we even thinking about it now. and if/when i do fall pregant gonna tell anyone till it shows. just seems no one can ever be happy for anyone anymore.
but it be fab to talk to other mum's in similar postions.

Completely understand. I have 5 and the snide, nasty comments were pathetic at best and really hurtful; especially from my own family.
Anyway - will PM you....0 -
Struggling for just one of our own, but best of luck, people can be hurtful.2 angels in heaven :A0

thankyou for your wonderful pm's skylight.
and yes lisawood78 somepeople can be very hurtful and they don't always realise. Hope u fall soon hun x0 -
My sister's got 4 children and when we all get together (I have 2) it's lovely - we have enough people to play rounders/football etc...:D
I don't see why it should concern anyone else how many children you have if you are able to provide for them financially
Good luck0 -
Id love 4 kids, have 2 boys already and we are talking about number 3. My aunt, in her 70's and no kids of her own but perfectly fit in mind and body, thinks this is shocking and that 'there is no need in this day and age for people to have more than 2 kids!'
My dad seems to be of the same opinion as I was holding my brothers wee boy and he said, hope youre not getting any ideas!!!
Id love a big family, there is only me and my brother and we dont get on whatsoever so feels lonely, ifywim! DH has one full brother, 2 half brothers and a half sister so there is always someone around for him when needed.
I agree with above poster, if you are able to provide for them then its no one elses business!Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110 -
I have three bio kids and two steps and have had some appalling comments over the years.
One midwife, during pregnancy number three, asked if I was a traveller!!! Then assumed I was Catholic. I'm not either, I just like kids!!
We went out for stepson's birthday last weekend and the waitress said we had our own circus! How rude! They were perfectly behaved!
OP - you go for it, missus. I was an only child and hated it. I know my kids bicker and get fed up with each other, but 99.9% of the time, you can't put a piece of paper inbetween them!
Good luck!0 -
I'm one of 6 (the first 2 are my half brothers but I love them fully) I adore coming from a big family and currently have one of my own and 2 step daughters- to be. I won't be stopping at one baby and probably not at two, I'd like maybe 3 or 4, if we can afford it.
I remember my parents going to buy a car once - we also fostered children, so needed a big car to carry us all and the car salesman actually asked my parents if they couldn't afford a television! My dad walked out in disgust and thus didn't buy one from them.
I'd say go for it.,___,

I'm of the opinion that when it's family making comments it may be related to the expensive of having to buy xmas/birthday pressies for more children (especially if they have other grandchildren to buy for)
I know my mum likes to spend the same amount on each child 'so it is fair' bless her, though I know she can't really afford it and she has 9 grandchildren in all (not that mum ever complains)
My father however is a tight wad by nature which I guess is his perogative(though he is wealthy) and my sister has had to put up with a few comments from him re the cost of having to buy drinks/ice creams x4
Think she just ignores him now and puts up with it when he comes to visit.
I would say out of all the grandchildren (I have the 2 youngest), one sister has 3 and the other has 4 - my sister's 4 kids are the best behaved, they all seem to get on and I rarely hear bickering - they are lovely kids0 -
I think my mam didnt enjoy being one of 6 cos she was in the middle all she ever got was hand me downs and I know she didnt like that.
But if you can afford it go for it
I'd like 3 but not unless we can get extension on our house to make it 4 bedrooms, I want the children to have thier own roomsDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Will all the kids get enough equal quality time with you? Can you afford to have more kids? I hated being part of a large family as I never got to spend much time with my parents as they were always looking after the younger ones. Kids always suffer in larger families.
"Suffering" is subjective and there are also kids who will "suffer" through isolation as only children. There is simply no right answer, and no two children will have the same reaction to the circumstances in which their parents choose to raise them.Operation Get in Shape
