Do you know the phone number for the people who arrange delivery, as I had a missed call this afternoon from a 01302 number which is in Doncaster. Maybe I should ring it back and see if it's them.0

Just rang the number back and think it was them (thought he said Sealy Logistics Limited), but just shut up shop for the weekend. Will ring them up again Monday.0 -
Hiya,
I got mine today and am really pleased however just a warning. I rang sealy a couple of days ago as I was worried because I'm due to have a baby in a few days time and didn't want to miss the delivery. I gave the girl on the phone my mums number and said that should I go in to labour they should ring her and she would come to mine to take the delivery. She said no probs was really nice and friendly.
Anyway they were due to come between 1-5pm today so I arranged for OH to stay here while I went to dd's harvest festival. The courier rang to ask if they could deliver earlier so I said yes. I was upstairs when they arrived and being 9 months preg and on crutches I was not feeling very well. I could hear OH downstairs shouting and insisting that I come down. I asked them why OH could not have signed and they said sorry it is consignee only.
Is it me or is this really silly? I was very close to not being there and wonder what would have happened if I had been unavailable in hospital for the next week.
So if you are planning on getting someone else to accept the delivery, I would ring them and check first. Hope this helps someone.0 -
Ours arrived today, so hoping we shall get a good nights sleep.
Couldn't believe the time it took to be delivered, but I suppose Tesco must have been inundated. What makes it really mad is that we can see the Sealy factory from our back window. The mattress was made there and then sent to Carlisle (20miles away) then brought back here. The delivery guys were asking everyone they delivered to how much they paid for the mattress. They said that Tesco paid £150 for them!
Thanks again OP

Rather implausible that Tesco and Sealy accounts departments will have shared commercial information with a 3rd party delivery company...:rolleyes:British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
