  • On more than one occasion, I have seen 'Thank You' posts in the local press for items returned to their rightful owners.

Still absolutely nothing to do with YOU! No matter how many times you post the same info.

I have this mental picture of Norris Cole off Coronation Street when I read your posts.

Surely its everybodys business if theres a cop going round stealing from the dead? I certainly dont like the idea that, should something happen to me, the cop sent to 'help' can help themself to my purse. My purse, along with the contents, should go to my next of kin.
Shouldnt he be stopped before he does it again? And since the next person could be anyone, isnt it in everybodys interest for this cop to be stopped? Hence, everyones business.
Would be different if it was a theft within a family etc, but we pay for the police via our taxes and should get help from them !
  • Never heard of this policy by the police.

The OP should write a letter to the Inspector detailing the lengths you have gone to to return this IPOD to its rightful owner. The fact that there is no stored information on it and that a breach of the Data Protection Act would not occur as there is no personal data on the IPOD.

I was also under the impression that IPOD's had a factory reset similar to mobile phones. If necessary that could be done.

Under the rules of found property you now have a lawful claim to the property you found and you should not accept the situation as it presently stands. Ask for written proof of the police policy and query the use of police auctions for items of value.

Do not let this stop you from your honest endevours in the future.

ahhhhhh takoda didnt remember you either!!! er its not me posting same info - its all you halfwits quoting it!

No, YOU have rephrased your post either two or 3 times in an attempt to make me agree with you or at least see your point. You have failed each time.

The fact remains that neither of the people at the scene spoke to the PC who they alledgedly saw pocketing the wallet. If something was to be done about this alledged crime then they should have done something then especially considering that one of them was his wife.

You were not there. You saw nothing. You just have the word of 2 people who were probably not thinking clearly due to shock.

The 'victim' of the alledged crime is his wife. But she didn't think to go and ask for it back even though she 'saw' the PC put it in his pocket. No one even thought about it until a week or so later at the funeral!

Sorry but none of it adds up.

And it is still nothing to do with you - which is what the Police told you!

I didnt actually do anything in the pc world thread apart from witness you strip whatever credability you had to pieces , and i can see you are doing the same here with the boogie men police taking wallets from dead people.

For a taff , you should have more sense than to spout crap and not expected to get pulled on it AGAIN :D
