I used to work with an incredibly hot young lady who was a JH and actively did door knocking duties. I still sit here waiting for her to knock on my door. She wouldn't be let out again :D.
That reminds me of a time when I was a teenager, two religious "freaks" knocked on my door to ask if I was interested in going to Church on Sunday. As the female "freak" was fit, I drooled "yeah", (its gotta be worth a grope);) , I actually went to this church a few times before I got the idea that I would have to marry before I even touched her, and she would probably want more out of me than "I believe".

Still after stopping going, they used to knock on every Sunday to try and nudge me to tag along, in the end I had to say I had converted to another religion, just to stop them calling.

She was still drop dead gorgeous though.........(yeah I would have :D)

  • Jehovahs Witness people like to bug me. Somehow the guy knows my name, although I might have told him I just don't remember. They like to give me their magazine.

As far as the charity thing goes, it's like those people who stop you in the middle of your shopping trip, try to get you to sign up for a direct debit (do I look stupid) then make you feel like an evil !!!!!!! because you can spend money at the shop but don't have spare money for charity.

See, I work my !!!! off like most people, if I want to spend my money on a treat for myself every once in a while (which is everyone once in a while) I will. I don't have a lot of spare money, heck I don't have a lot of money in general and, sorry to say, I'd rather feed myself than be bullied into giving all my money away.

A bit off topic but I once got stopped in Central London by a JW, who I told I wasnt intrested..he proceeded to STALK me along the thames asking a million questions as to why I wasnt intrested with me igonoring him the whole way...until I saw 2 policemen and hightailed it over to them.

    He soon disappeared!
  • I had someone at the door the other day from Trocaire (Irish charity), who asked me if my "mummy or daddy" were home...

The worst one was the people trying to sell me the integrated fire/burglar alarm system who noticed I'd got a dog and kept threatening me with the house catching fire and my poor pooch turning into a hot dog.

The most irritating are the replacement windows people. When I say I prefer my original windows, they ask if I've seen their new upvc wood effect - you can barely tell the difference (Not!) I then ask them for a written guarantee their windows will last the 100 years my existing ones have, which normally sends them slinking off.

The charity ones lie and say all my neighbours have signed up and I'm the only one who hasn't, to which the reply is you clearly haven't met my neighbours......

JW - I tell them I'll take my chances with hell as at least I'll be warm.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Dont bother putting up notices at the door, they either ignore them or think it doesn't apply to them

I am surprised we have not had a "don't blame me, as I am only doing my job" post.

I had a caller last week from a company called Roof Guard (they spray some coating on top of the existing roof tiles), that company name was written in large letters on the front of the sales person's folder which contained pretty pictures of roofs in varying colours. He wasn't selling anything, just "promoting" the company. He must only just have left secondary school, he looked THAT young.
After I'd politely said I wasn't interested, he walked away muttering quietly what I heard as profanities directed at me. He denied it when challenged.
I e-mailed a complaint the company and one of their directors replied quite aggresivley because he took "offense" (his incorrect spelling) to the fact I'd criticised their salesman and his company selling techniques!
