Thank you all. That was lovely becky, but I am not expecting to meet anyone again. I don't go anywhere to meet anyone and whilst I have been seeing my bf, not one male has looked my way!

I am very shy and unconfident and really don't want to go through heartbreak again.

Something new doesnt have to be someone new you know :D

Confidence wise - can you do something like an evening class or a club once a week to get you into new situations and meeting people (friends :)), I went through a stage of being shy and going to choir with a friend really helped! I am the opposite of shy now ;)

ah, now that can often be solved with a bit of pampering and a bottle of something relaxing ;)

now, this wouldn't happen with lots of the above fireside rules. :p

By now, I thought you would have realised that the role of the man in the supermarket is trolley pusher, old granny fender-offer in the yellow sticky section and general mule pack and carrier :rotfl:

Funny thing is that although I have always been on the shy side, it has got worse as I got older. I used to be a right party animal, out every night in my 20's and 30's and still able to get up for work and look after my daughter, but now I don't even want to go out and don't drink anymore due to the really bad hangovers I get.

I literally go to work and come home again! that is why I have been trying to talk to all of you so much, I could really do with friends but have found that whilst a lot of you answer me when I say something, no-one ever 'speaks' to me if that makes sense.

So thank you to those who have replied and talked to me tonight!

 Just spent the last hour looking at Canadian cruises. A girl can dream eh?

I've got loads of christmas peel offs - more than i'll ever use so if anyone wants a couple of sheets for card making, pm me your address and I'll pop some random ones in the post.

I'm also making more sock monkeys this year - made some last year and they went down a treat..

    Sock monkey
    Sock monkeys
    Sock monsters
    Rag doll monkeys

Feel a bit sinusy tonight - hope it's not the start of something nasty

Its pretty hard to keep up sometimes on the chat...I just muscle my way in until someone talks to me but I have a theory that only 3 'thought's can be going on here at any one time - so if another one appears then something gets muscled out (not intentionally) - any more than 3 and it gets too confusing for everyone...

What I'm trying to say badly is - dont take it personally, sometimes stuff gets missed...

What do you do by the way? Any chance of a conference or something to meet more people in the field that you dont work with directly??

I think we all feel like that a lot of the time, I know I do..it's nothing personal (or if it is then no-ones told me about it :D)

Tenmah, sorry, I wasn't online yesterday so hadn't read your post. Hang in there hun, I speak from experience when I say it gets better - and it's that thought that is keeping me going today. I know this pain is transient...it will probably be replaced by anger (and sadly, Pringles :o), then just a kind of vague sadness, and then, when I realise I haven't thought about him for a few days/weeks, I will know I am on the mend.

The added confusion today really hasn't helped, but sometimes, when you are at rock bottom, something else hurting you just a little bit more can be the kick you need to start to pull yourself out of it.

I've fought too hard this year to cope with being single and get over heartbreak, and I'm not going to let a man ruin the life I have now, which I do actually quite like most of the time.
