  • I don't understand why some people are being negative towards the thread starter and the way he has posted his experience. It's exactly the way i feel and to be free of debt,i also would like to scream aloud from rooftops if i could. The feeling is wonderfull after years of pressure.Thumps up from me and i highly recommend this route.

Yes it is a nice feeling to be debtfree and we can understand gazzles euphoria but it was statements like this we objected to
    "
be honest in the forms (well, to a point, I mean, don't be too honest), "

    and this

"even in my old job they left me £230 a month after my £180 shopping, £60 razors and after shave, £60 for a holiday, £100 pet food, £320 car related etc...) "

It gave the impression that he got one over the insolvency service and that is not what this forum is about. All we are saying is he should have kept some of the wording of his post to himself:rolleyes:.Dx

I must admit I read this post last night and although I am thrilled for the poster to being able to move on and feel an internal two fingers up at the sharks etc, I did feel like it was a 'red rag to a bull' and knew we would be having this conversation when I logged on today.

I have to say that I was around (newly bankrupt) when the last 'troll' attack was going on. No one knows this as I tried to keep out of it but I was in tears one night. This place is a solice for very vunerable people and although we get so many people asking us how we feel now we'll gladly tell them of the relief, happiness and calmness we now feel, we're honest but have to put it across as bankruptcy is massive you know, we have to be careful not to big up bankruptcy and I truelly believe the kind, honest people who post on here regularly always post with dignity and not as an act of showing off or beating the system.

This needed to be said, The post was without a doubt worded controversially, I just hope it wasn't written to cause a massive row as this board is a support board for very vulnerable people!

I know where you are coming from and i can see both sides of the arguement. So he bent the rules to his favor, why not? You are being ripped off as it is living in the UK and it's not as if MP's are squeeky clean themseves is it? These are the people who are suppose to represent our country but have been fiddling and screwing the system for years.
Before i went bankcrupt i did plenty of reserch and took advice of people who new how to play the system.I also exploited the rules and i don't see the problem with it.
  • Just like to stress that bending the rules to your favour is completely different from someone who is cheating the system ie benefit cheats etc.

but I disagree...to me its exactly the same but benefit fraud isnt the case here or the place to discuss leave that for another part of the forum... lets not forget a LEGAL document was signed & sworn in court that the person named bankrupt has to give FULL co-operation at all times...so "bending the rules to your favor" in my eyes is no different to any type of fraud benefits or otherwise

many people try & play the system.....but it always come back & bites you

I take it you've never been around after a troll attack here due to thoughtless posts like that? i'm not saying anything against the OP sure i'm pleased life moved on BUT it could be worded better although from the replies so far maybe it's all been done for effect?

Know what though?? i've really really had enough of this place latley it's all how can I cheat the system how can I hide an asset how can I avoid an IPA etc etc....its all good and well telling people "sure cheat the system dont say a word to the OR" but what happens when it all goes wrong eh?? who picks up the pieces then?....people are coming here for genuine help & advice only to be told how to cheat xy&z...and that is wrong!

this place definatley isnt how it used to be thats for sure most people here are genuine asking for and receiving help...although recently people seem to come here get help then throw it back in your face... brightonfan if indeed you took advice on how to cheat the system then your no different to the benefits cheats you so easily cry...

I co operated with my OR right from day one even after they took a large chunk of my final paypacket when work finished me on ill health grounds but NEVER did I complain or indeed cheat the system as I had more respect than that

Enjoy yourself folks i'll leave you in the hands of the few good people who post here. i've posted my last for now after this......

  • If someone seems to have come through br fairly easily then I am glad for them, afterall the run up and begining of BR is a very daunting and stressful time.. As long as 'coming out of it easily' means they have been honest.

The reason I said dont feed the trolls was simply down to the fact a lot of newbies who may not ever post look at these threads, looking at the first post they may feel BR will be that easy when in most cases it really is not!! and of course once the trolls dive in on the conversation they can leave people upset hurt and even one case suicidal.

To add to others, i dont think banks are to blame for offering the mortgages, after all we should have thought long and hard before taking them out asking ourselves the 'what if' question, I do blame them when they are unwilling to help or to come to some payment plan options that the debtor can afford, without constantly giving them hassle.
The reason I felt guilt before my BR? because I was to blame no one forced me to sign for the loan or the mortgages. Yes bad luck dictated what would happen next but I did sign.
