What is the latest must have phone out there.
My contract is up for renewal, last year the must have one Nokia 6230i which to be frank I have had major problems with and it is currently back with the CRC group. However, I must confess I have always had Nokia's and am a bit concerned about trying another manufacturer as Nokia's have a reputation as being user friendly.
Last year I would have like one of their new clamshell designs but I wanted bluetooth and they did not have that option.
So any suggestions gratefully received, does not have to be Nokia. Might go for it this year and try I different manufacturer.

hey kazd - interesting selection method for a new phone
you'll probably get a lot of people asking what you need the phone for (just calls, pictures, videos, applications, music etc etc etc) as that will determine the best answer...
w810 (sony ericsson) is pretty popular as a standard phone with lots of extras, nokia are releasing a lot of smart phones that will let you do even more with the handset but may over complicate things for some people - the N80 is the latest one of those to reach the shops but in a couple of months the N72 / N73 and N93 will be released and push the bar even further in terms of capability.
like i say - what you need the phone for is crucial in getting the right recommendations..."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -
Aren't Nokia bringing one out with a built in preview tuner?0

If you like nokias then I'd stay away from the w810i.
Having used nokias for years I recently got the sony, it went on ebay after 2 days cause I didnt like it. Felt strange to hold buttons were awkward to press, key pad lock different menu different etc etc. I think if you only want a phone for calls texts and the odd mp3 then the 6320i which you have is a GREAT phone. Maybe you just had a bad one.
My problem with these new all singing all dancing phones is the physical size of them. I remember when phones were gradully getting smaller, then all of a sudden they have to have video, camera, gps, organisers etc etc and we are back to bigger phones0 -
Nokia 6111 seems to be quite popular. Big screen and loads of features but still a fairly small handset.
Check it out at Nokia.com0 -
The problem I had was when they took away the one action bar and then you had to choose between two depending on what you were doing. I find the keys of the 6230i a bit slippy especially if you have long nails. When I got this phone I really had wanted the Motorola something or other it was black and a flip with bluetooth etc, was put off by a customer service rep who told me about the up and coming 6230i but I have had real battery issues with it. Have just received my 3rd reconditioned replacement and I am still only getting about 48 hours out of the battery.
I would have like one of the new nokia flips but at the time they did not have one with bluetooth. So really I just wanted to see which phones were being raved about. Not particularly technical but like to have all the gizmo's just in case.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

The Nokia 8800 is amazing, well it looks amazing, but feature wise its avergae.
The Nokia 6280 is also very good indeed.0 -
The 8800 is a load of garbage. Its the same phone as the 6230 except with horrendous battery life and it weighs a fair bit. Great.
The N80 is the current be and do all phone at a decent price, although its a little chunky you can live with it.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

The latest must-have "fashion" phone seems to be the LG KG800 Chocolate phone. Not overloaded with features, though it does have bluetooth - but it is rather nice-looking!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0
