The choc cake was delicious if i do say so myself:D strawberries were getting bit squidgy, so mahed them up and dolloped them on the side, topped the cake with an icing that went wrong so saved it by putting melted choc in, so it ended up more of a sauce, and whisked the double cream up... yum!;)
Now gona look through this thread again and sort out 2moros meals... x x0 -

Im drooling at the thought! Well done Missus! Thats great. Did you not feel proud? How did OH and kiddy (one isnt it?) react? Were they proud?
Next time....from scratch! There will be no stopping you now!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Lets think.
Depends how you will be using the yog. I freeze in ice cube tray then put ina bag once frozen. One tbsp is one ice cube. Ideas for how to flavour natural yog - i always keep it days after its date! Never look at it really
Fromage frais the same. But if you would use a whole tub at a time, do it that way, or portion it up.
Quark - a thread how to use it up, may give new ideas? Freezing will prob change the texture but not the taste. (high moisture content) Same with cottage cheese - but while I am here, here is a thread for ideas for it too
Ok, what veg do you have wilting? Could be potential soup there.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I have courgettes, aubergine, oranges and kiwis that need saving.. will check ur links out in a minute 4 the other bits.. pple did post recipes that look delish im looking 4ward to trying them out, just they need to be frozen til i get a chance.. hpe that makes sense? x x0 -
Do you mind if I jump back in here?
I find that raw courgettes don't freeze particularly well - they tend to go a bit mushy when you defrost them. That's fine if you will want to add them to a casserole or something, but not so good if you want to use them as they are. If you have some idea of what you want to make, it might be best to part-cook the courgettes in the most appropriate way before you freeze them (cut them into slices and fry them, for example).
I have a feeling the same may apply to aubergines, although I've never actually tried freezing them raw (only because I've never needed to, though!).
I seem to remember that there was a thread on here about freezing things not very long ago which you might find useful. I'll see if I can find it...
Update - found it! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=235780&highlight=can+freezeBack after a very long break!0 -
CCP - great link! I don't think I've seen that thread before. Wil lhave a read of that.
I dont freeze much veg so good to find out. Do courgettes not freeze well because of the high water content?
Lou - thats great! Sorry, 2 bambinos, not one.
yep totally makes sense! Good call, you seem very organised. Are you feeling better and calmer about the whole thing? Have you spent any of the budget? Must check post 1 againA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
