  • I had mine done at Optimax Manchester coming upto 10 years now, i do need them doing again though
  • Unfortunately that site just seems to contain generic blurb and not much specific to the branches in newcaslte. Should help me read up on any possible surgeons tho.
    Ben, I know it is a trek but I can personally recommend Susanna Boytha who practices at Glasgow/Edinburgh. She lectures in the treatments and has done around 30-40,000 ops. I was REALLY nervous and she totally settled my nerves and was extremely professional.
    I was -5/6 in both eyes and also had astigmatism. She went over all my options and have to say it;s one of the best things I ever done. As I said I know it's a trek from Newcastle, but then you only have 1 pair of eyes and want to make sure it's done right!
    I'm not one for offering discounts (although sure we could arrange something!), but just want to share my fantastic experience. I honestly didn't expect Optical Express to be so good. I kinda thought it was the bets option avaialble at the time and felt comfortable enough to go ahead with it (which was a BIG decision) but as soon as I spoke to the surgeon it was all go. I'm now 6 months down the line and can see the very bottom line (the page after 20/20) with my right and almost with my left. When I went in I was struggling to see the top letter with my left!!!

    Go for it m8. I believe David Teenan i meant to be really good as well. When I saw the success rate that Susanna had and then spoke to her pre op (you don't normally do this until the day of the op) I was totally assured. Good luck if you do!!!

    see for optimax, do they offer any discount if you have to get it redone say 5/6 years down the line, to correct your sight if any change ?

    ive been toying with the idea for a while and they sent me a offer to get it for £1885 for there top service for both eyes.
  • Here what i found -> http : // eyesvisions . com / laser-correction laser eye surgery
  • Hi Mking 007,

    Did you have your original treatment at optimax? Some of the clinics will still do re treatments upto about 5 years after surgery but it will depend on individual policies.

    Also do you know for definite if you are suitable for a re-treatment as not everyone is. Most people are but it will depend on your corneal thickness. Let me know if you have any questions on laser eye surgery and I would be happt to help

    si

  • Hi mking007?

    How did you manage to get the offer for £1885. I have had 3 different consultations and no one has made such a low offer. Which branch did you visit please.
