Has anyone has Wavefront done and can tell me about experiences?

Had Wavefront done. Cost me £150 extra per eye at Optimax.
Total cost was only just over £1000

I don't have any complaints, night sight is excellent.

    Payplan DMP began Sept 2005
Amount paid to Date - £15330, £53656 to go
Debt Free Date - April 2021
  • Had intralase with wavefront on 18/12/08, went for next day checkup and I have 20/20 vision. However I am experiencing blurred vision and halo's around lights especially at night, is this common? Will this improve?

Your eyes are just like skin cells, they are human tissue, not glass. very thin fine, delicate and specialised skin cells, get used to that notion. and then consider that like any burn, lasers leave skin raw. It still has to heal itself even if it's under a flap of skin.
I've a little scarring on one eye, and thought things seemed a bit glaring and harsh, light was really dazzling, but it was all part of the healing process. Try a slightly tinted pair of sunglasses, my husband drives for a living and always has sunglasses with him, summer and winter.
20/20 might change slightly, but probably not enough to make any real difference.
This time of year there is a lot of spray, wet, low sun, street lights, artificial lighting and christmas lights, it wears your eyes out a lot more than you think, espeically with the heating to dry them too.
Some people's eyes are good at night, others are not so good. Expect a perfect result instantly and you will be disappointed. Give them time to heal, and make sure you drink lots of water.
I'm sure you have a check-up date. If its not much better by then, tell them, if it causes you any pain then call them straight away for advice.

  • I must admit I've not read the entire thread but I thought this may be helpful

I had really bad vision minus 17 and 18 respectively so couldn't have laser treatment. I was experiencing poor night vision and got sent to Moorfields by my optician for a lid lift as I'm almost 50 and gravity is getting it's way.

When I got there I was told yes, sure we can do this, but you'll need to have your cataracts done first. This was the first I'd heard of this and had had not symptoms. It appears they were just starting to form. Anyhow, they removed both cataracts, replaced the lenses with prescription exchange lenses and I now have 20 20 vision in both eyes.

As I had BUPA, it had no cost to me and I've had an op which has a longer track record and lower incidence of problems
