  • Hi, firstly, I sympathise, I have multiple health problems and have a terrible sickness record, I have given a lot of thought to packing my job in.
I agree with others, feeding yourself and your family is important.Do you have any asian supermarkets near you? there are a few in my town and they are great for getting things in bulk - especially lentils, rice etc that will keep you full. There are LOADS of money saving ideas for cutting your food bills on the OS boards. I agree that its probably not worth having a car if your not using it much, taxis can be cheaper.
Clothing - can you all make do with what you already have for now? Freecycle is good for picking up kids clothes if they grow out of anything.
DLA -check out the disability & dosh thread on here, but when they turned you down for DLA, did you take it to tribuneral? I initially got turned down 4 years ago, but it went to tribuneral, they immediately put me on middle rate care for 3 years. Last year at renewal, they realised I wasnt going to get better, my GP clarified a few things and I am now on it indefinately. I got help from CAB with my claim and they supported me through the tribuneral.
If I think of anything else I will let you know, but just my initial thoughts.
  • I put in a reconsideration of the're decision twice and was still turned down however I will be reapplying for DLA again as I have had alot of proper advice regarding the form so will give them a ring today, I am also managing to pick up a few bargins in the our local charity shop as my daughter needed some clothing for college got her a brand new m&s Black t-shirt for £1.00.
