    Hey everyone!

I have one to add to my list......I"M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a teensy bit excited! :D

We had pretty much everything arranged and ready to go ahead but then I lost my job and all our savings had to go on living expenses so we postponed because we thought we couldn't afford it. We're 6 months down the line now, and exactly a month away from the original date  but we've decided to cut out the posh hotel and the fancy champagne and just have a wedding for us! Not sure of the date yet but it will definitely be during this 12 week challenge!! :j

    Veeerrrry happy true27!!! :smileyhea

  • Big congratulations True! :)

My constructive thing for today has been to harvest the last of my home grown potatoes, clear out some containers in the garden and plant some veg that should be ready in winter/ spring. Got beetroot and garlic that should be ready soon too! :j

Hope everyone's day has gone well.
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

Have had a NSD today and a no alcohol day, so that's good.
  • Congratulations True!
I have done nothing due to work being even more manic than usual (week off for uni exams = in tray piled ever higher), but hope to sort myself out over the weekend and get back on track.
Hope everyone is ok and doing better than me :o
Very tempted by that bagel recipe also!

    Would love to join in

My 12 week plan would be:

Week 1 (this week only half a week but will count it as a warm up period)
No spending money at work.. i.e vending machine, sarnie van or nipping to the shop at lunchtime. Also means I have to make my sarnies before work.

    Week 2 - as week 1
But also, start clearing out my house, I have 27 years of accumulated junk to ebay/dispose of!

    Week 3 - continue from week 2
But also, look for ways to build my weekend job and get it registered as a business so I dont fall foul of the law

    Week 4 - continue from week 3
But also, as its just after payday, spend time completing my debts spreadsheet and make sure that I am still taking the most effective route to pay off existing debt

    Week 5 - continue from week 4
But also, act upon any ways I come up with in weeks 3 and 4 to build my business.

    Week 6 - continue from week 5
But also, look at further ways to cut my expenses i.e change internet provider, gas supplier etc

    Week 7 - continue from week 6
But also, look for ways to enhance my social life without hiking my spending

    Week 8 - continue from week 7
Time to do the finances spreadsheet again, all being well I should see some added improvement from all the spending I haven't been doing

    Week 9 - continue from week 8
It's the beginning of November so time to sort out my winter wardrobe and repair rather than replace where possible.

    Week 10
A week off from my 12 week plan as I have my daughters wedding, so everything else will go out the window!

    Week 11 - continue from week 9
But also, seriously consider how i can have a cheaper Christmas.

    Week 12 - continue from week 11
But also evaluate my 12 week
Have I managed to save by not using the vending machine?
Have I lost weight by not snacking?
    Have I de-cluttered my home?
Have I made a litte from ebaying (or maybe a few front garden sales)?
Is my business registered (it had better be by now or I am really on the wrong side of the law!) and have I found ways to grow it and put these into action?
Have I swapped commodity suppliers or found other ways to lower my bills?
Am I prepared for a cheap but cheerful Christmas?
Has my social life improved but my spending not increased?
Do I have enough clothes to get me through the winter without spending?

Wow, thats a very big ask... but I am going to try for it...

    *GULP*

Jaz that is a very detailed plan but if you print that out and put it on the fridge or somewhere you can see it you will have great pleasure in crossing off the items!

Fab news on your wedding true...you must be so thrilled and doing it the DFW way is so much better. :)
