    Hi all,

    Many thanks.

No, the lady at the branch said nothing about any referral. The lady showed me into an office, then using the details from my Solo card, she pulled up my details on the computer, tapped away on the computer for a while then said I could have Advantage Gold and I would get a cheque book and visa debit with a cheque guarantee on it. She went on to explain I could cancel Advantage Gold within 2 weeks if I didn't want it and it would revert to a free current account.

Yes, my new account has appeared on Internet Banking. I will wait for the new debit card to arrive before swapping things over to the new account. It might sound silly but I daren't ring them to ask about the card , I just want to get it in my grubby palm!

I think you'll be fine then, if she said you could have a CGC then thats a bonus (i.e. its a full debit card).... nice one, well done! :T :T

Let us know when you get the shiny new card in your "grubby palm" lol

Youll be fine then the system tells you/advisor at end when the details have been credit scored what services are available to you.

If it said a CGC with no referals to AVU then youll get one.

Am just waiting till shatwest get's back to me with 'The computer says NO' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It should be automatic drop to step mate and also they are not allowed to credit search you for a non regulated product - is a basic account classed as regulated? ermmm, nope! Most they can do is ID Verification / Fraud checks - NOT a credit search!

If they search you for a credit account then report them as they will have broken varying laws (i'll be specific if they do search you)....

Natpest are one in their own remember

True !! Thanks a ton mate for the reply, as the chances of getting the full current account with them even with a full auth card seem seems minimal for me

So true that one defaults and seems like the world shuts the door on ya

If you dont get a full current account they will most likely will offer you a step account instead. As long as you dont owe any debts to the RBS Group.

I did have a step account with them but closed it a few months back as did not want the solo card however don't want another basic account yet again

Just out of curiosity how long does one normally need to wait before getting a full current again if a single default has been registered with the rest of the credit file being clean :confused:

Well, dare I say, I had two defaults four years ago, but not with my Step Account which I kept totally in order for the six years I have had it. The defaults did appear on one of the credit reports (cannot remember whether it was Equifax or Experian) but not on the other.

But I was really surprised when the lady in the branch said I will be getting a Full Account with Cheque Book and Cheque Card. I thought I would get the full authorisation visa debit or even another Solo card (albeit they are doing away with Solo).
