  • Big hugs Blimus, hope things work out for you moneywise – what line of work are you in, if you don’t mind me asking?

I'm supposed to be a copywriter but the jobs are getting harder and harder to find. I have a couple of regular jobs which keep things ticking over and sometimes can get one-off jobs. The job that we have just lost (has gone in-house like a lot of things) was a proof-reading job for a hobby magazine.
My DH was a writer too, for music magazines but his work dried up too when we moved to Norfolk! He's already had to completely change his career to teaching. I'm worried that I might have to change too and at 38, I don't know what I could do.

French downloads sorted... Italian playing up, but I'll try again later.

Blimus - I used to work for Euromoney/DK/AA Publishing, and I know most of my ex-colleagues have gone freelance but work in groups so that they can take on a complete editorial job (and they're also collaborating with designers so that they can do the whole thing between them - one person project manages and co-ordinates the others). It seems to have been very successful, so it might be worth considering. I'm sure that if you can both write & proof read, you can do research/copy-editing etc as well. Hopefully some more work will come up - I'm afraid I'm a bit out of the loop after 5 years of working in IT, but if I hear of anything I'll let you know!

Jacky I am so jealous about your fiat 500 - what colour are you getting?

    DS3 at beavers
DS1 at golf and doesn't need walking boots for the trial expedition which is great news, September is proving to be very expensive.

    Toots
    - bedroom is always clear, clean and tidy. I really need to sort out and make room in the wardrobe/under bed/drawers so it won't look different but will be rearranged behind the scenes. How are you coping, do you still need your carers?

Lady Liberty I was with you at 3:30 and I so hope a plan was devised for you sweetie xx

Think I'll leave todays list till tomorrow I'm still hyper and I need to wrap DD1's pressies for tomorrow and stuff - is she the only 20 yr old to want a Balloon

Toots - you do know how to make me feel guilty! No star achieved today (although I did most of the kicthen earlier), and a lot of junk I should not be touching consumed. In my defence I had a rather distressing conversation with MIL re FIl and I do struggle to cope. They have had 48 years together and I simply do not see how she is going to cope without him.

LadyL - I have seen your facebook update, hugs for you, my adored FIL is in a similar boat so believe me I sympathise - which doesn't help in the least but it is all I have. My heart breaks for you, and for your Dh and your family.

I have done HHI but that is it for tonight. Life is too short to waste it on ironing and fat club. Please everyone try and look for positives instead of embracing the black dog. Live for each day and don't waste them. And please tonight take the time to spend some quality time with those who matter to you.

My hot water is still missing, so I have come to te conclusion that is it the theromstat in the boiler or some thing similar, so I'll get a sparky round to see what is going on.

    Hoovering is done
DW on (heats it own water)
Cleared up OH's stuff into a tidy heap, ready for when he gets back at the weekend, his last week away, goodness knows what the cat will do, as he has been spread out on his side of the bed at night for the last 6 weeks!!!
