If you can bear to, just leave them for a few days - he might decide it's not so much fun if he gets no 'rise' out of you for doing it.
On the same scale, I would not want my Son to get a hold of them and try to put them in his mouth. This has been going on for Months, indeed when i moved into here there was a humongous pile of them which I assumed at the time was by the previous tenant, after a major clear up, they constantly would reappear to the point where it has now become some kind of joke for him, he actually goes out of his way to do it.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -
sounds like you inherited the prob marleyboy. if the old bu99er is enjoying himself, rather than being ignorant of the problem - do you have a dog or cat? if so instead of being responsible owner - lob the droppings over garden fence - make sure he sees you and tell him as you dont smoke - you are returning his offerings the only way you can think of. and you will stop when he does!!!!0

Id speak to the council about it, you shouldn;t have to put up with it,0

Similarly to discipline in a classroom or a crying infant, they'll do something bad for fun if they know you will react in a way they will like. It may be awkward but try ignoring them, or something he won't like/expect - like the massive poo on the doorstep idea.Male.

What's his address?
I'm sure some MSEers could think of some mischief in return.0 -

Cheers juliescot, although I am not sure if throwing cigarette butts into another's back garden is classed as anti-social or not, although to me it certainly IS, as it is a persistent and deliberate act on his behalf.
This being a nice and friendly neighbourhood I don't know why he is doing it, as I am always friendly with all my neighbours and certainly don't want to turn this into some kind of battle. All I really want is for this behaviour to cease.
It definitely is! Report him to the council, in fact my local council are actually paying people for reporting littering and you get even more if a conviction is secured.0 -
thought long and hard about this marleyboy - realised after I posted first (nice) suggestion that this is the old sod you were talking about on smoking thread. I know what I would do in your place - next time he is outside smoking by your window chuck a bucket of water over him - apologise profusely and tell him you smelled smoke and thought something was on fire!!! do this every ruddy time and he will soon get message!0
-
btw - I may be a smoker myself but am beginning to really despise your neighbour. do you want me to come and put the frighteners on him? he may laugh in my face (or blow smoke) as I am female, 5 foot tall and weigh 8 stone soaking wet - but he wont when I demonstrate my Tae Kwon Do skills!!!!0
