Blimey, we should change the thread name........"Wannabedebtfree and friends (......can I call you that yet?.....) GUNNAGETTHINNER"

Glad to see my very serious  collection of unusual barbie dolls is causing much amusement :rotfl:

I will have to sort them out and take some pics, I don't even remember all that I have, theres about 20ish, I know there is an Elvis one, a campbells soup one, a scooby doo one, a 1980's native american one, the whole set of the wizard of oz ones (Dorothy, Glinda, Wicked Witch, Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow and munchkins) although I found out yesterday when I was searching on the net for a pic of the set that I don't have a little flying monkey or an evil guard guy  never even seen them before........wonder how much they cost!!!! ;)

I wish I had read this thread before I sat and ate a whole pack of maryland cookies :o (24p in Lidls!!) damn my weightloss challenge......I start tomorrow!!!

Anyways back to my DEBT diary..............lol......

I have posted my PPI letter today, so that is potentially £280+, we'll see what they say........

My friend is going to speak to her hubby to see what he says about the cleaning, she feels I'm taking too much on (full time job, and the equivalent of full time uni on top) but I said I wouldnt say it if I didnt feel I could do it, and I also need the money, so I have to wait to see what hubby says.....

Paid the £30 deposit for Germany, we'll just have to be EXTRA tight on everything, I might phone the school to see if I can pay it over a bit longer, £50 end October, £50 November and £50 December.....we'll see what they say!

Loving the support guys its much appreciated!

EDIT: Oh and its going to be my lucky week, I found a bright shiny penny yesterday!

  • Nope, didn't shoot you down, thats been my sig since I joined the site years ago, and you're totally right it wasn't a positive one and maybe its the reason I am in a worse situation than I was all those years ago......I am a positive person generally apart from when it comes to myself ........I've changed it, what do you think??? Its from a website of affirmations so its very 'american' but it will do until I find one that really fits!!! :D

    Hurrah :j:j:j

All gone..........no wonder I ended up over 7 stone overweight!!! Half way there though, its moving slowly!!! (The weight not the cookies, they were moving towards my lips at an alarming rate!!!)

I worry myself sick too :(, I have a DFD date of nearly 4 years, so don't feel too bad about your 2!!! But I have well and truly faced up to it this time (I have a history of having a lightbulb moment and then my bulb blows, this time though I have energy saving ones and they are supposed to last years longer :rotfl:) Hey I've just realised if I get a GTP, then I will be qualified in 2011 which means my wages will increase by £7k, my DFD would move to 2.7 years with that much extra to chuck at it :T. Right, I am off to find a list of primarys to letter drop about taking me on as a GTP in Sept 2010.........

Lets all be slimmer by xmas, its one less thing to be worried about! Just someone please come and remove all cr%^ from my cupboards, I don't even really like biscuits but there was nothing else there that would satisfy my need for a binge!

    Right, back to debt-busting......

I've been thinking (unfortunately not enough about my essays!) about all the ways I can bust this debt that is making me feel poop!!

I've made some positive steps already (sending reclaim charges, CTC mistake and PPI letters) and I'm writing down every penny I use so I know where it all goes, I've put a couple of things on eBay, but theres loads more I can get rid of, (but my essays need to be posted this time next week so they are my primary focus......ok.......well secondary at the moment because I apear to be obsessed with this damn site) I also have a whole drawer under my bed of lotions, potions and christ knows what else so I am going to have a sort out and use every last scrap of shower gel, shampoo and body cream in there before I buy any more.

What else?? Hmmmmm.........my 10 meals plan is working excellently (apart from tonight I didn't have time to cook so it was cheese and beans toasties all round - quick and easy - not on the menu list but only used 'store-cupboard' ingrediants so it won't affect my menu!!

Why do I do 10 meals for 7 days? Well I hate knowing what I am going to eat days in advance by the time it gets to it I don't fancy it or can't be bothered to cook it, so I now do a 10 meal plan, have all the ingrediants in, and then each day chose what we are having that evening and get whatever I need out the freezer in the morning.

I do 10 meals cos when it gets to the end of the week and theres only a couple of meals left on it I can guarantee that sinking feeling of "Oh, we HAVE to have lasagne tomorrow and I don't fancy it" sets in and I end up buying something else, this way there's always a few 'spare meals' to choose from and if we don't have it this week they get carried forward into the following week as a starting place for my new 10 meal plan............sounds mental but its really helped.......I havent popped out for last minute dinners or a takeaway for over two weeks now.......YAY!!!

I think you can call me that! :D

A Campbells soup barbie?! Cant wait to see that one!! :rotfl:
If only youd known about the wizard of oz set-- bet that came as a shock! :rotfl: Flying monkey would be cool- but would they be to scale? Otherwise dorothy gets terrified chased round by a giant monkey man thats the same size as her.. thats just not good!! :rotfl:

I think the school should agree to that. sounds reasonable!

Great stuff on the penny. The only ones I ever find are old and manky :o

EDIT: Keep me updated on ur colleague/hubby situation- will have everything crossed!
