I must be very unlucky........I don't really want to go into it but I just wanted to say that I haven't had a hysto but I have lost my cervix to cancer and my sex life has changed. Or rather the feelings I get (don't get anymore) during sex have changed :o

Having said that, lack of feeling downstairs is better than not being here at all so it's all good :D

Thanks for your post Shelly and I am sorry that you had cancer but as you say at least you are still here. May ask, do you not get any "feelings" at all? :p

I get some but they aren't as strong or intense as what I used to get.

Shelly, it could be a hormone problem, have you seen your local nurse about it?

No I haven't. I mentioned it to my consultant who did the surgery and he said it isn't uncommon for it to happen....infact he warned me of it before taking my cervix away.

Oh Shelly, this really worries me! I have a great sex life at the moment and I would hate things to change..... I have spoken to OH but he thinks that I am making a bigger deal of it than it really is :o DO you still enjoy sex?
  • Im thinking that if you are so concerned about your sexlife, the reasons for having the op are minimal.

I know that I would have foregone my sexlife to get the benefits of my op... it doesnt even compare.

    good luck in your decision

You have the hysto for your reasons only Bebsie and what it will do for you- Like you I suffered with constant heavy flooding sometimes for months- my hysto was done to stop this and improve my sex life-and get me out of bed 2out of 4 weeks a month!! which worked fantastically- you are in no way shape or form wrong to think about your sex life at all- The benefical outcome will be what kind of life it gives you afterwards including the worry about borderline changes too- Less worry bout the changes=more relaxed relationship=no worries bout bleeding= One happier Bebsie & Hubby !

    Go for it- Enjoy life

Of course not, but if you were relaxed, creative and adventurous in the bedroom before - that won't change.
